Look Up: Your Unexpected Guide to Good

WOW!
This is by far the most inspirational and feel good book I have read. It is Straight, direct, and to the point, with plenty of insights on how to see the glass half full instead of half empty. If more people had the positive outlook that Jan writes about, the world would be a better place. Read it, embrace it. You will not be disappointed.

Stop. Look Up. Read this Book!
Never has there been a greater need for the joyful and happy journey you will take in reading this book. I love it so much I want to give it a hug! Every page, if not every paragraph, offers insights on how and why we should "look up." Jan Sokoloff Harness, sometimes channeling her late, lovable mother Lillian, presents the most authentic, upbeat take on life I've ever read. It's chock full of tips (i.e., 18 Ways to be a Mensch), poetry, and life lessons learned from fairly ordinary experiences that most of us would completely miss because we weren't looking up. This book will make me a better writer and, more importantly, a better person. I plan on rereading a story daily to keep my eyes and my perspective where they need to be: up.

STOP. Look Up. Feel better.
I have given this book as a gift to family, friends and clients. At a time when there is so much negativity, it's so nice to pick up a book that puts a smile on your face, reminds you of a simpler time, and allows you to apply lessons learned from the past to today. It's a quick and fun read. This is a book you will pick up time and time again when you just need to "Look Up". You will laugh, cry and say "yep I do/did that.

A Good Book. A Great Book. A Book You-Need-Now Book!
When I first read Look Up, it was on a three-hour flight while on vacation with my son and it took every ounce of self-control to not hand him nearly every page and say, "this is important. Oh, this too. And, omg, you'll love this."With images, graphics and sweet, sweet surprises, Look Up brings unexpected good to life in a very real way for you. It's a book about mothers and daughters, and creativity, and finding the good in the world on the days when there isn't much good to be found.I gave it to a sweet, sweet friend recently and told her on the hard days to start with the Tennessee Williams quote and on the even harder days to jump to the back for "My Wish for You."It's a book for your nightstand. For your living room. For your favorite reading nook. My son, who now has his own copy, kept it next to his bed to read while studying for finals. This book can cure what ails you. Highly recommend.

Common sense optimism
This is a very good book. There are few fluffy aphorisms. Not a lot of mystical nonsense. Instead, it has hard headed optimism based on grounded insight. We don't need our heads in the clouds. We need to keep our feet on the ground and see that we can reach the sky. This book tells us how to do that.

Well crafted and thoughtful.
Look Up May be an easy read but don’t allow that statement to limit your experience with this gem. Read four or five pages and put it aside for a day or two, allowing the wisdom and humor Jan brings to simmer in your thoughts. Simple lessons are on every page, as are reminders that there is much to be learned by remembering the good in people.

A great read. Inspiring & Uplifting
This book had me laughing, crying, smiling and captivated from beginning to end. And oh how I wish I could have met the beautiful Lillian. What an amazing woman who lived with such positive, honest intent. Jan is a gifted writer who's words provide a reminder of the amazing world we live in and how important it is to do the simplest of actions - Look Up - and enjoy every moment and every scenario life brings to us.
