Works very well for a light weight option
Using this for some larger binoculars for a steadier view when stargazing. Works very well, and though I'm sure there are sturdier options, this appears to be meant for ease of portability and quick setup. At that it excels.

Tripod Pictures Do Not Do It Justice
Before I purchased this tripod, I was a bit concerned as to how sturdy its construction was, the legs in the pictures appeared to be thin and spindly... Once received, the tripod legs are approximately 1.25" in diameter, sturdy construction. The only complaint I have is that the pan/tilt handle could be longer, it's about 3.5" so you must reach under whatever is mounted on the tripod to pan/tilt. Not a big deal if whatever you are mounting on the tripod is small, but in my case I have a pair of Celestron Skymaster 25X100 binoculars mounted to the tripod so I must reach under them to pan/tilt. Max weight specs state 11 pounds, the binoculars mounted to the tripod are approximately 9 pounds, with them mounted the tripod is stable whether the legs are extended or not.

Cannot hold 20x80 binoculars
Had high hopes but the mounting head and screw did not hold my Celestron 20x80 binoculars which weigh just under 5 pounds. The stand is lightweight and sets up fine, but my binoculars wobbled all over the place as they just couldn't tighten on the 1/4" - 20 screw. Maybe it was a defect plus the tripod couldn't hold that weight. After more research I returned this tripod and found a replacement with Orion Tritech II Field Tripod with Fluid Pan Head which is so much better. HIgher weight load, same price. Binoculars fit nicely and tight.

An essential piece of equipment for the Hummingbird spotting scope at a price that makes me happy to own it.

Myst have for binos
Lightweight portable . Decent price for the quality. Makes a zillion percent difference when using for binocular astronomy. A must have. Keeps from shaking and can lock in on an object .
