Fun Alternative Way for Food Preparation
My sister has many, many food allergies: gluten, fructose, sugar, starch...I am always in search of ways to cook for her to suit her dietary restrictions and still have an enjoyable meal. This is the newest tool in my arsenal and it is a very appreciated addition. I baked a lasagna with zucchini sheets instead of pasta sheets--And it was delish! The machine cut nice, long sheets of faux pasta and I was able to build with a natural, no-additive ingredients. Though their was a minuscule learning curve (I did lose a couple of zucchini in the process of learning to use this machine), it was nowhere near as complicated as some of the other reviewers have complained. The only way this machine would be unsafe to use is if the operator handed the blade to their infant as a pacifier alternative. Also, I would highly recommend against using this machine in place of a loofa sponge while bathing. My only regret is not being able to visit the users who gave poor reviews and confiscate their forks so they don't accidentally stab themselves in the elbow while eating. Also, the blade is not machine washable.

Manual vegetable sheet cutter has serious design flaws and did not perform.
The product has serious design flaws that prevents it from cutting vegetables into sheets, which is the product's express purpose. Instead of securing vegetables on multiple prongs as is common with most vegetable cutters, this cutter is designed to secure vegetables on a single plastic drill that bores rather deeply into one end of the vegetable. This drill expands soft foods, like cucumbers and zucchini, to the degree that it blows the vegetable apart. Once the end of the vegetable is destroyed the plastic drill just rotates inside of it and won't turn the vegetable to cut it. The only vegetable that the cutter worked on to any degree, was a regular potato. I attempted to cut a sweet potato but the sweet potato was too hard. Again the plastic drill that is supposed to bore into the vegetables just cracked the potato and spun around inside. While the cutter is well made and is easy to clean, it simply did not cut vegetables into sheets.

Works well
You need to use thick vegetables so a very wide thick zucchini (much bigger than those little things at the store) will get you much further I would think. Apples also worked well. But bigger wider apples not little ones. I was surprised how it handled beets- that was oddly very successful. Also had success with - celeriac, some sort of turnip, and potatoes. I donโt know what to do with these sheets of veggies though so โฆ ๐คทโโ๏ธ Only so many vegetable zoodle lasagnas you can eat in a year- so, I might just use these sheets instead of bread for sandwiches/ wraps throughout the week. Kind of boring but better than frying tons of potato sheets in terms of calories. But the fried potato sheets are pretty tasty. Iโm wondering about making beet bacon with this. Who knows.

Works great with potatos
I used this the first time on Russet Potatoes. You have to cut the vegetable down to size - about 5 inches long. it takes some getting used to but, the potato "noodle sheet" it made was really good. Used a meat "stuffing" and rolled them up. Was very good. Likes: Makes a nice long sheet if you have a decent diameter potato to work with. Makes one good sized baking potato go a long way. I used 2 and made 2 whole 13 x 9 pans of "stuffed" potato rolls. Dislikes: The rolling handle and tube should drop into place instead of having to try to line up the vegetable in the middle of the machine and push the handle with tube through it. Very complicated set up in order to get ready to cut and there's no need for it. A little difference in the design would save oodles of frustration. I had thought when I ordered it that the tube would set through the vegetable then add the handle and end holder and drop into place into the machine. That would make things so much easier than trying to figure out what size to cut the veg. then, cut it again so that it fits on the end piece inside the machine, then try to set the tube through the veg.

Learning curve ahead
So this thing is not easy to use if you have zero experience with the mandolin machine. I did not know what I was doing and thought this was gonna be easier to use than it was but after trial and air I eventually did get a good rhythm with it. My suggestion is not to use oddly shaped items because it will definitely mess up the thickness which could affect your cooking. Overall though I do like the machine but I just donโt really see myself using it that much because itโs kind of a one trick pony. As far as learning how to use it itโs kind of a DIY situation because the instructions are in another language and you kind of have to look pretty deep in the booklet in those specific order to find the instructions and even then theyโre similar to IKEA that theyโre only images and it doesnโt really help actually. Also you do need to have some good solid strength in order to get the item youโre slicing into the holder. Overall good idea, Needs a little bit better of execution. On a high note though it is supremely easy to clean!

Very sharp!
Love this machine. It's exactly what I wanted. Still learning to use it but I already made zucchini lasagna. It was pretty cool using sheets of zucchini. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking to make sheets of veggies/fruits.

Great core hold design and slices thin ribbons.
Works very well. I've used it on an apple and a zucchini. See the zucchini slicing video I uploaded. The strips are ribbon thin. I put silicone grease on the blade slides. Stuck well on the granite counter. Siction cups have tabs on the corners for easy removal. Chose this manual cutter over the electric versions because the spiral center core holder seemed like it was going to work better than the other products where reviews noted on a tough zucchini the center spun the soft core instead of turning the vegtable on the knife blade.
