Easy to install in many configurations.
The media could not be loaded. This item arrived with one day shipping. The product appears to be very well built but it is made in Taiwan according to the sticker. I looked over the instructions for a few minutes and chose the correct template (4 templates included) to mount the hardware. In my case it took 5 minutes with a driver. I will say I was waiting for something to be wrong the first time I opened the door but to my delight it worked flawlessly time after time. It has only been up one day (at least 20 openings and closings) but I am very happy with it. I have had a couple of the "Wright Mfg" tube type closers and could never get the soft close to work to my satisfaction. This one requires slightly more effort to open but the closing of the door is smooth and firm every time. We can barely hear the latch work so we are always checking to see if the lockset (heavy duty digital combination) has engaged. This unit offers at least four mounting positions and I could think of a couple more if a weird installation is encountered. I am going to include photos which include the installation instructions as well as the template because I couldn't find them anywhere before I made my purchase. Mine is installed on a mobile home with a 2" thick aluminum skinned insulated door. Almost forgot: The hold open works great. You open the door to 90 degrees and it stays open. You give it a slight push and it closes.

First Impression Negative - Then Improved 2 Weeks Later
Update: 5 months later - Dec 2016I am content with this door closer. It closes fairly quietly. On rare occasions it fails to latch all the way but this is usually due to a change in the windows or doors in the house being open or closed and not in their usual position. Or when its windy out and we have a window open.So...I suggest you adjust the door closer when you have your windows and doors in your house set to their most often used position. When I first installed this door closer I really had to mess with the adjustment screw before it would set right. I wondered if the screw was stripped or slipping. Anyway, now I won't mess with screw for fear it won't work as well as it does now.Original post July 2016Maybe this door closer requires a break-in period. I don't know but at first it would rarely close and latch completely. What a pain. I tried messing with the one and only adjustment screw. It didn't seem to help much. A few weeks later out of frustration I messed with the adjustment screw again. Suddenly it started to close and latch the door everytime. As far as appearance, this door closer looks exactly like I want it to. Thin, clean, simple and barely noticeable. Installation was easy. The instructions come with templates to make it almost fool proof. If you open the door all the way, it will stay open which is exactly what I want.I wish some company would make a door closer that looks as good as this one but comes with more adjustments. For example an adjustment for ease of opening the door. A second adjustment for closing speed. A third adjustment for closing strength to latch a lightweight inside door.

Great for a slamfree screen door
As iconic the sound of slamming screen door is I had had enough. I even looked at quiet close devices for kitchen cabinets. This design is the best design for the money. This design is adaptable to almost any swing of door configuration. Install is just a few minutes. I recommend using a 1 inch sheet rock screw instead of the included screws. I used the included template as directed but drilled pilot holes through the paper. As reported by other reviewers there is some resistance in pushing open, but not much. I mounted this device on a standard wooden screen door. The important thing is that this door closer does close at a moderate speed and then slows down fully when the door is within less than an inch of closure. There is relatively little slam noise. There are some limitations in that this closer will only work at the top of the door.Bottom line is that this device is a vast improvement of the typical piston closer. Note: I like other reviewers don't see any hold open latch, device, switch, or even a notch in the slide mechanism that mounts to the door frame.

Does not work
I Installed this on a door from bedroom to garage. Made all of the adjustments per the instructions, but the door would not fully close. I then purchased and installed two spring loaded door hinges, with the hopes that the door would fully close using both systems. It still would not completely close. I then removed this unit & the door closed perfectly! So I wasted a lot of time installing & adjusting this defective door closer to no avail. Don't waste your time & money. Use the spring loaded hinges instead, they are easy to install & they work.

Consider your application carefully...
The spring hinge on my laundry room to garage door finally failed after 22 years and I wanted a way to occasionally keep the door open. This door closer seemed to meet my requirements and I am mostly satisfied. The installation was simple and the instructions easy to follow, and it does stay open when held at maximum opening for a moment. The down sides are that it stays open when it's opened wide enough to let me through and it doesn't have enough oomph to fully close the door about half the time. I have adjusted the closing speed across the range with no remedy. I'm sure it would work fine on a screen door or similar, but it's not quite up to this application.

At best good looking, but otherwise... ur
I was hoping the price and design of this door closer would translate into a well-designed, highly adjustable closer. Installation was relatively easy. A template provides easy enough drilling of screws. My biggest issue is its adjustability. It opens too hard; you will notice it takes an annoying amount of effort to open. The closing speed is adjustable, and is less extreme with a slight turn of the one screw compared to the cheaper door closers. 40 years ago, I installed a door closer made by Scoville (long gone) that had both a gross adjustment and fine adjustment mechanism.. I would love to find a door closer on this form factor with that same fine and gross adjustment. This one by Quietouch (read quiet ouch for the price) ain’t that one.All in all, I’d stick with the simple spring-loaded cheaper door closers.
