Is seeing believing for Somebody else on the Moon?
"Somebody else is on the Moon" was first published in 1976. The book presents itself as an investigative documentary. The author George Leonard is building his theories on past observations of the moon, on pictures made available from NASA and on talks he has had with various people. The book starts with a long list of available NASA photographs of the moon's surface. It then defines a "change" that has taken place on the moon's surface. From there the reader is guided through certain facts about the moon itself. Throughout the rest of the book's 230 pages the author dwells with various types of "proof" of intelligent life on the moon. Each of the examples given are in itself astonishing be it a motor on the moon's surface as big as Bronx, lights, flashes and flares, spraying of the craters, gas jets, ground markings, insignia and high-rise signals just to mention few. And all through the book George Leonard is referring to the monochrome pictures that are placed in the middle of the book. He also provide many drawings which purpose is to further cement his theory about an alien civilization on the moon. After having read the book and studied all of the monochrome pictures through an enlargement lens I am not able to see any of the strange observations that George Leonard claims to be present on the surface of the moon.He claims that there are immense mechanical rigs, some over a mile long on the moon. And he provides a picture to back it up. But the picture does not show any such alien, mile long rig. And that raises a question: Why have George Leonard not enlarged the parts of the NASA pictures that is of interest to the reader. After all a mile long rig would not be difficult to recognize, would it? The book should be read partly as an investigative documentary and partly as fiction. Therefore I give four stars to the fiction and one to the documentary part of the book. In "Somebody else is on the Moon" seeing is definitively not believing. Sorry, but the pictures as presented in the book prove nothing!

A Compelling read; should be printed in USA!
Hardcover copy, slightly used, Reprint 2013 in India (?). According to the Forward: "In 1976 George H. Leonard published "Someone Else Is on the Moon"..." (Note; "It helps to keep an open mind when dealing with controversial material such as this.").I found this book more than fascinating, given the limitations of NASA Space-based photography in the 70's. Mr. Leonard is one of the first to actually question the possibility that "Someone Else Is on the Moon", besides Mankind's limited forays to and from our nearest celestial orb.We now find there are other researchers who have gone so far as to ask provocative questions such as "Who built the Moon" (Christopher Knight, Alan Butler); or much more mundane queries, as to why NASA so abruptly pulled the plug on the Apollo program, never to look back, much less go back? Were we given marching orders to never return because others (ET's, or advanced terrestrials from a breakaway civilization?) who had already laid claim to the Moon long ago, for whatever purpose or agenda (mining, watching us, both?).- There are a lot of interesting theories out there, all I know is NASA has stayed pretty much uninterested for over four decades, and it leads one to ponder what's really going on? (See: Dark Mission; The Secret History of NASA, by Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Bara for more details). The best story I've heard (late-night talk radio) was - "The Others" (for lack of a better term) were parked on the ridge of the crater (Tranquility I think) looking on as Neil and Buzz did their historic moon-jaunt, then "The Others" gave them the (seemingly universal?) 'middle-finger' salute. Who can say if that's true or not? However it would appear we may have gotten the message.- Bottom line; I think George Leonard was way ahead of the curve on this one, but only time (and disclosure) will tell...

Must have for your UFO collection.
Love this book and what he describes on the moon. It is not the original though so most of what he is discussing is just not visible in the pics. They aren't bad pics, but they are not the original hi res ones needed to see these anomalies. Still, pretty incredible.

Very interesting, his argument is well documented.
The moon is not a natural satellite considering the Apollo seismic testing it is also hollow. It appeared in oral history between 20,000 and 12,000 years ago as noted by several ancient peoples. The fact that no one has visited the moon since 1975 is very telling. It seems NASA was told to go home and not come back.A fun book to read.

Pictures difficult to see details
The book has moon pictures but the resolution isn't high enough to make out the features described in the text. The pictures are some of the best I've seen but not good enough for the average reader without moon knowledge.

Amazing and remarkable. Our government is hiding information from the public regarding the moon!
This book has quite a history. The first printing was in the late 70’s, it was heralded by some, ridiculed by most, and then all copies were bought up and destroyed. In fact, my state library had one copy, which the state librarian thought was “odd.” It is filled with information and revelations that will shock many to this day. Buy it soon, before the latest printing runs out. Some of these copies were going for hundreds of dollars until a private citizen paid to have it re-printed…

Book is unreadable on Kindle
The book layout on Kindle is sideways with very small print and is not readable. The layout of the book shows 2 pages side by side on one screen. The print size is very small and doesn't change when the font size is adjusted to the largest font size.

Seems interesting
I'm still reading this book, I'm normally not a book reader, but when I saw this book online, I just had to order it, I just barely started reading it, and it seems very interesting. I'm intrigued by true stories like this. It let's people know that there's more out there than you think.
