These cords come in black and white. They are easy to install, simply hang on cabinet knobs! Please note that they are not considered baby proof or installed properly unless you tighten both buttons on the string! Once properly secured, it is very unlikely that a small child can loosen the string to open a cabinet.

***Update with kid now 2 years old***Our kid is now 2 and these locks are still the most reliable of anything we have bought. I’ve already put them on a couple more doors now that he gets into EVERYTHING. Anywhere we have these though we don’t have to worry if he might somehow open it. Great investment!We have a lot of different items in our house we needed to baby proof including a cabinet in our dining room that holds all of our China and some other table settings.These have a fairly specific use, especially being black, but they’re exactly what we needed.Since putting this on the pair doors, our little one can no longe open it and after trying a couple times he got tired of trying and has since stopped.Being black they blend right in with our furniture. We have a few more pieces of black furniture in our room that we will eventually use these on but he’s not in there enough to lock up all of those yet.Very happy so far. They are easy to adjust to different uses, easy to open, and don’t look obnoxious or stick out. Would definitely recommend but maybe not for something that is opened and closed a lot.

UPDATE - Once you order this product and see it about to ship CONTACT THE SELLER and request the 'thicker cords'. Iwas actually told 'these are the cords our employees refuse to thread'. They make a HUGE difference and make the product work. I raise from 1 star to 4.__________________________________________I have to admit, while I want my toddler son to grow up tough, I want him protected as his motor skills gets him into places I can't fathom of how to get to or accomplish. I have spent hours in Amazon searching for the easiest and safest protection products.That said, at first glance and with the 20+ five star reviews I jumped at the chance to purchase a couple. Let me say, I am not `that customer' who looks for the negatives.I received my set, couldn't wait to open and latch them on. My 2 year old walked over to the new latches on the double doors (similar to the ones in the picture), and pulled on both handles. To my dismay, no matter how many ways I tried to set the cord, short of knotting it, the long cord just slid through the `locking' mechanisms. I set every configuration starting with the `as pictured'.They are no longer being utilized as they do not deter or `lock'.

This is simply perfect for underneath your bathroom vanity, kitchen sink, or furniture hutches. Nothing to install or damage your cabinets. Just slip it on over the handles, tighten the clasp, and you're done. The clasp mechanism is easy for adults to slip up and down and has so far deterred my toddler from even trying to figure it out. I wish all my cabinets were this easy to childproof! The seller also sent a short but thoughtful personal letter with the shipment that described how she started her small business as a young mom who just invented her own solution to a child-proofing product void. She utilizes domestic suppliers (as much as possible) and gives people with disabilities the much-valued opportunity to have a small but important job helping her package and prepare her product for shipment. My mentally-disabled aunt has had a similar business-owner give her this same opportunity for many years now and I can't tell you how important it's been to her and her value as a productive working adult. If only ALL U.S. business owners could give back just a little! On top of buying an awesome product, it made me feel good about who I was buying from. Hands down - 5 stars to the seller and 5 stars to the product.

I haven't had these installed but a week, so I'm giving a 5 for durability right now because they have held up so far. I bought the black cords because they match my entertainment center and they blend so well, you won't notice them unless you are looking at them. The cords are so easy to use and are great for knobs that are too small for those plastic sizer licks that you'll find at the store. These work great because they completely wrap around the knobs and are tight. The doors do come off the latch if pulled, but they do not open due to the tightness of the cord. I like how easy these were to install but all how easy they are to take off. No sticky mess, no drilling into my cabinets, and no ugly plastic locks on my pretty cabinets. I recommended them to my parents for when we come because they are so easy to install and take off.

I only needed one of these, but figured a pack of two might come in handy. We needed one to lock our tv cabinet. It worked great for that - reviewers who say they don't hold probably only used the first locking mechanism (there are two, and it needs to be tight).I like how it's a good firm hold, looks good (unlike most products out there), and it doesn't leave any marks or permanent installation bits. I also like how easy and simple it is to take on and off.Now, here's the coolest bit. My son was getting into a closet that we didn't want him getting into, and now that he knows how to open simple doorknobs we were struggling with the idea of having to buy a new knob that locks, or get a latch system (again, permanent solutions). Then, I figured, why not simply loop this wonderful bad-boy over the knob, and the other portion over the lock plate (which in our case protruded a bit). Wow! It worked perfectly!I highly recommend these. We don't need more right now, but we would recommend them to any friend of ours.

I purchased this product, put it on the doors, made sure to follow the website instructions to tighten. 18 month old daughter had it broken in ten minutes. The piece that hold everything together is cheap plastic, and it can't take any stress or it snaps. I'm going to try gluing it together, but who knows if that will hold.
