I haven't had these installed but a week, so I'm giving a 5 for durability right now because they have held up so far. I bought the black cords because they match my entertainment center and they blend so well, you won't notice them unless you are looking at them. The cords are so easy to use and are great for knobs that are too small for those plastic sizer licks that you'll find at the store. These work great because they completely wrap around the knobs and are tight. The doors do come off the latch if pulled, but they do not open due to the tightness of the cord. I like how easy these were to install but all how easy they are to take off. No sticky mess, no drilling into my cabinets, and no ugly plastic locks on my pretty cabinets. I recommended them to my parents for when we come because they are so easy to install and take off.

***Update with kid now 2 years old*** Our kid is now 2 and these locks are still the most reliable of anything we have bought. I’ve already put them on a couple more doors now that he gets into EVERYTHING. Anywhere we have these though we don’t have to worry if he might somehow open it. Great investment! We have a lot of different items in our house we needed to baby proof including a cabinet in our dining room that holds all of our China and some other table settings. These have a fairly specific use, especially being black, but they’re exactly what we needed. Since putting this on the pair doors, our little one can no longe open it and after trying a couple times he got tired of trying and has since stopped. Being black they blend right in with our furniture. We have a few more pieces of black furniture in our room that we will eventually use these on but he’s not in there enough to lock up all of those yet. Very happy so far. They are easy to adjust to different uses, easy to open, and don’t look obnoxious or stick out. Would definitely recommend but maybe not for something that is opened and closed a lot.

While these are not made to child PROOF - these do make a great boundary line for my 11 month old. These are so easy to istall/remove and are not a pain to take off in order to get in/out of the cabinet. These actually keep my cabinet doors closed tighter than the type that you have to push down to unlock. I liked that this didn't require any sticking/glue/drilling.. They are simple and effective. And the price is great on top of that. I plan to keep these on unless I really start to have an issue with my daughter getting into cabinets once she gets older - I never had an issue with my older one so I'm hoping this is the same.

These work very well and are easy to use. We like them because they are not permanent and provide pretty good security. They can be open if they are pulled hard which is why I only gave them 4 out of 5 stars. We do still use them for non safety risk cabinets, and they work well to take on trips when you don't know what to expect.

I compared this one to the other units on the market and I like this one the best. It is the easiest one to use. But don't let that scare you away from the effective of this unit. It is baby proof in regards to the motions you have to apply to make the cabinet door open. Also it looks better than the competitors' units because of its simplicity. It is not over-engineered like some of the other units. The product is shipped directly from Kiscords. I had to reach out to them on the order because my shipment was delayed by the shipper. Eventually the original shipment did arrive but through the process of investigating the problem I contacted Kiscords and they assured me that they would do whatever it took to keep me a happy customer. It is very comforting doing business with someone like this!

We have a front "tv" cabinet that has doors with knobs on them that are kind of close together. I literally tried 4 other locks - none of which even fit let alone locked it. These worked beautifully. You can't even tell they are on there and they are easy for me to get on and off if I need to open it. My son, who has figured out how to get into every other lock we have is still stumped on this one. He will sit and try to figure it out and hasn't managed yet. At any rate, they really do work well. I highly recommend and we are using them in our bathrooms as well. Same problem with the same solution. I think even if the other locks worked as well (which they don't) we would still use these as they really are not noticeable and are very easy for the adults to use.

I wasn't sure about this when I purchased it. But, it has been working out pretty well. My daughter is 9 months old. She pulls herself up on the cabinets. She plays with the string but she is unable to get inside the cabinet so far. The tie comes off rather easily. I like it about. ***Update March 10, 2015 Its been two years and we are still using these cabinet locks. They work much better than I could imagine. If I tighten it neither child can open it. This is the only thing we found that was easy enough to use for our style of cabinets.

We bought a set of these for our motor coach. We have two sets of cabinet doors in the galley that get covered by the slides when we bring them in. Even though the doors have latches, a couple of times we were on roads that were so bumpy that it shifted the contents of the cabinet enough that the doors popped open. These safety locks are the perfect solution to make sure that doesn't happen again. They are quick and easy to put on and take off, and they keep the doors tightly closed no matter how many bumps we drive over.
