Aydin Esen

This recording captures Aydin Esen's most accomplished playing and composing. Other albums, preceding and following, are certainly excellent (or amazing) in their own regard but I found there was always a slight nick here or there from the sax player, guitarist or vocalist to detract from perfection.One could go on about each piece here separately, describing its lyricism and highlight its stratospheric musical dialog and monologues, but all the compositions flow so seamlessly from one to the next, and are so homogeneously balanced, mere words could only fail to do them justice.This album, in its conception, symbiotic performance, capture and even mastering is as close to perfection as anything I've ever heard from a jazz piano trio. As highly recommended as anything (jazz or otherwise) I can think of.
