Apps are a problem
Great phone and awesome camera only let down by the limited amount of apps due to Google no longer allowing access to the play store.

Camera 👏
I'm sad because it doesn't support apps that I want to use. You give up those apps for the sake of better quality pictures.

Don't bother if you like apps
Ignore the amount of reviews (including all those youtube reviewers) telling you about how google services don't affect much. I bought a P40 based off all these reviews and thought I would be okay because I can live without google and i'm very tech savvy. I was wrong. What these people don't tell you about is the amount of apps and services that are indirectly affected. Most of my apps, even if I could easily download them as apks, became unusable. Who would have thought American express needs google to run?? Sure, many of my apps were not necessities, such as my diary app, takeaway apps (all of them), loyalty cards (such as costas app) and university app but this does cause one massive inconvinience. I can't even sign into my games. I found myself thinking "ugh, why can't i just do this simple thing??" more than 5 times a day and spending way more time finding fixes for basic things than actually just enjoying using my smartphone. If you're a young person who uses a lot of apps for every day purposes and uses a smartphone as a tool for convinience, then honestly, don't bother. It's way more trouble than it's worth. If you're not a big user of apps, and are a huge fan of photography then hold on, let me gush about the good points of this phone too.It honestly is a gorgeous phone. The build is great and it looks stunning. The screen is less vibrant than, say, a samsung, but it is still fantastic, and personally, I like it better as it make it easier on the eyes in general. The specs are great, all the sensors work lightning fast, and the phone is very responsive. The battery is the best I've come across - I can easily use it into the next day on regular/heavy usage. I put it on charge, turn around, and suddenly 5% has turned into 45%. it's magic. Camera is fantastic too, although I do have issues with its extreme post-processing of photos. I would take perfect looking photos of my cat, but the second I see "sharpening" appear above my photo I know it's ruined. It makes colours washed out, unnatural and made my cat look like a spikey boulder somehow. The post-processing doesn't happen all the time but when it does, it ruins your precious picture. I recommend just permenantly using the pro lens to avoid this. All in all, it's a great phone, but has a very specific audience at this point to no fault of its own. Don't listen to all the gushing reviews blindly - those people don't always have the same lifestyle as you so them saying "it's totally usable" should be taken with a grain of salt. For all you know, they only use about 3 apps on a daily basis. People like me wake up and use a dream diary app, journal app, bus ticket app, delivery tracking app, meal logging app, mood tracker app, coffee card app, supermarket app, and study planning app all before 10am, so suddenly having all of these apps gone (trust me, a shocking amount of them don't work without google services) is of course going to be annoying. If you love your wide range of apps and your main purpose for having a phone is to make your life more convinient (and you live in the UK) then don't bother with this phone.
