John Taffin's Book of the .45 Caliber

The book is written very well by a person who knows and understands 45 caliber firearms. Both Blackpowder and modern revolvers and semi auto. I have read his book on the 44 caliber guns and it is a VERY good book as well. Very detailed, and informative reading. Lots of pictures and graphs on just about all 45 caliber guns from 1800s to modern day firearms. The author loves guns as his writings show a passion in his writings to explain in detail his vast knowledge to gun owners about the 45 caliber guns. Same goes with his Book of the 44s as well. Makes good reading of 45 firearms. CAUTION…..If you buy his book of the 45 you will want his book of the 44 and his book of double actions. Dr Dave. Payson Utah

I just bit the bullet, so to speak, and purchased both the 44 and 45 books. They do not give these away but Holy Cow, what a book! Well worth the money spent! I suggest you purchase one or both and add the volume to your library. Both are chock full of information as well as high resolution color images. I was delightfully surprised.

I haven't found another reference book about the .45 caliber hand gun in either revolver or pistol (automatics) that comes close. John Taffin uses his personal collection to demonstrate and it's hard to believe anyone has so many and so varied a collection. Well worth the purchase.

This book is a wealth of information on the .45 caliber.45 everything. Black powder conversions, load data, 1911's, replica revolvers you name it.Bunch of stuff I had never heard before.

This a well written and very informative reference manual, I have a hard time putting it down.

Great book very informative , entertaining and inspiring. Only flaw is the lack of information on Marlin Camp45 carbine.
