This has an hard shell.
Many bumpers, are only 1 layer, buthis case has an elastic bumper over an hard shell. Hersonally, I would prefere a case with eleventeen layers, but 2 will have to do and certainly beats only 1.

broke after 2 weeks
bought this for teenage son because it said it was durable but it is not the first part that broke was a tiny side piece from the frame that got stuck in the lighting port the second part was the kick stand on the back that holds the phone up when laying on its side which is no longer usable this happened within two weeks of delivery I would not recommend this item to anyone

It's Okay
Provides a bit of protection to the phone. Have accidentally dropped the phone a few times, and the cover and phone screen are still good. The tab to prop the phone on seems a little flimsy, but it's still working. The only thing that's getting damaged and gets in the way sometimes is the black rubber glove-like casing that goes wrapped on the hard plastic casing. This rubber material eventually starts to tear, especially around the area where you hook up the phone to charge it. Eventually, I'll probably have to remove this rubber piece entirely.

My son loves this case!
Bought this for my son's phone. He's very active, not always as careful as he should be, so I believe this is a great case since the phone hasn't gotten a scratch, or crack in the screen.He loves this case (color wise and for functionality).Yes-I would buy again.Yes- I would recommend.Yes- this product is a good deal.

Doesn't fit phone
Had to modify the case by cutting it so the camera on back of phone would allow the case to close and then had to cut the front so the camera on front of phone wasn't covered up. The lighting port isn't easily accessible and time will tell how long the case last have a feeling case wont last long enough to justify the cost.
