La Fete a Stradivarius 1

I have never been more moved by a performance of the Brahms Concerto!! From the very first note, De Vito makes us forget about the violin and hear only the music. Her complete rhythmic flexibility, intimate phrasing, warm humanity made me realize instantly that I was in the presence of greatness; and she did it with such unwavering dignity, my eyes were moistened throughout the performance. I feel fortunate that this live performance exists on CD, so we all can be reminded from time to time that art can touch us in the most profound way. This is a performance to be revered!!!

演奏は良いが録音の点で躊躇する。ターラのＣＤにはよくあることで音色がモノクロ的でがわたしには合わない。モーツァルトの２曲は５８年録音の割には音抜けが良くない。１番の聴き物はデ・ヴィートのブラームスで、５６年録音で音が良いため演奏が良く分かり、フルトヴェングラーとの録音よりこちらの方が全てにおいてよい。さすがデ・Ⅴ-トと思わせる集中力で張りがあり緊張力も高い。次はフランチェスカッティのメンデルスゾーンか。音色がメンデルスゾーンに合っているようだ。若しくはイダ・ヘンデルのモーツァルトの５番だろう。高い緊張感のあるヴァイオリンである。フェラスのは５８年録音にも関わらず音があまり良くないし、フェラスも平凡である。全体にもう少し音抜けが良く、ぱっりとしていればと惜しまれる。何となく気が進まない演奏のＣＤである。
