Arrived almost before I ordered them!
I bought these packets because I bake thousands (really...) of cookies for Christmas, birthdays, to say "thank you" to people, etc. Now that Christmas is on the horizon, and I'm getting older and have arthritis in my hands, I ordered these to tuck into small packs of cookies in Zip-Loc bags, to keep my spice cookies as crisp as they should be. I haven't had a chance to try them yet, since they just arrived, but I will update this review to let y'all (yeah, I live in the South!) know how they're working for me.

Keeps dry food fresh
We recently purchased a food dehydrator, and it's a smash hit! So much of a hit that our friends and family have been asking for our Cajun zucchini chips, sweet bell pepper candies, and (my favorite) ranch squash crisps, and we are happy to send the goodies in care packages. We use ziplock snack size bags for our dehydrator treats, and they work well, but adding one of these silica packs ensures our snacks are as crispy as the day we made them even after several weeks. One silica pack per baggie, and I don't have to worry about my treats getting rubbery from humidity.

Keep meds dry for a week then change packets.
The gel silica gel packs keep my medication dry in the weekly pill containers. The package had almost 10 times the number of packs I needed so it will be a while before I can review how well they recharge.Into the 2nd week of use and the capsules that need to be dry are absorbing water from the air in the pill case. Easy fix - they sent 250 I need 21 for a week so I can rotate new ones into the pill cases. They are said to be "rechargeable but there are no instructions for that process.I would try another brand but these were the only food grade I could find

Just what I wanted
I bought these packets of silica gel to put in medication bottles. After researching, I discovered that Tyvek silica gel is pharmaceutical safe. These packets are very small and are perfect for most medication bottles. For the larger bottles I will be using two or three packets. When I contacted the company to ask about how often they should be recharged, I was advised to do this about once a month. Since the bag has an ample number of packets, I will replace the used ones with new ones, and I will save the old ones until I run low on my original purchase, then I will recharge them all at the same time in the oven as instructed.

It’s silica gel for sure.
These are small one-inch square packets and they come in a large bag. These packets do turn pink when they absorb moisture and they do go back to blue when you put them in the microwave for a few seconds. Don’t know how many times I’ll be able to refresh them. The little bags get a bit stiff in the microwave. It worries me that they may begin to crumble or deteriorate. I’ve used them two or three times since I got them and they are doing fine so far. I would buy them again.

great product
went on a limb and decided to try to can jerky, now i know what your thinking. why can jerky. well i smoke cure my jerky old style hanging method and as an experiment i wanted to see if it could be canned, jerky cannot be exposed to moisture when being stored it can grow mold and thats a big no no to eat. i canned up about 2 to 3 pounds and even after prolonged storage in jars the packets did a great job about being a moisture scrubber

Two different products???
I got 2 very different batches of this product. The 1st batch I got early in Oct-2018 turned pink as expected. The 2nd batch I got a month later turned colorless, not pink, suggesing that Cobalt Chloride indicator was replaced with something else. But here is the catch: this 2nd batch silica gel bags turned colorless ONLY if I punctured them with a needle a dozen times. The non-pierced bags remained blue. I left 2 bags side by side on the table and the pierced oneits lost blue color within 24 hrs; however, the non-pierced bag is still blue one week later. I even threw one bag into a glass of water where it floats, still shiny blue 3 days later. So I don't know what kind of bags you will get, but if they are of the 2nd kind, you know what to do now.I haven't tried to regenerate the bags yet because the microvave oven I have here is very primitive and I do not know how to turn it on "low", as required.
