INFINITY LIGHTS Puzzle Light: White Modern Lamp Shade, X-Large

I bought this to liven up my dull apartment space and I am quite glad that I did. It came as several plastic pieces and needed to be assembled into either a ball (the one you see at the description), a cylinder, a star, and a few other arrangements. It looks great from a far and really adds a dash of modern appeal to any household. The X-Large is a bit smaller than I expected. It's roughly a few inches larger than a basketball (I was hoping that it would have been a bit larger).I also added a Philips Hue light bulb inside and the color changing effect reflected on the white shades is quite beautiful. It adds a dash of complexity and coolness to the piece as well.You can find similar kinds of lamp shades at Ikea, but this is a lot cheaper and in my opinion looks a lot better. The only complaint I have about this puzzle is that the instructions are ludicrous. It's impossible to put this together with the crazy instructions that they provide. The easiest way in my opinion is to Youtube a video online that shows you how you can arrange it.My answers to the frequently asked questions below:How many inches in diameter is this XL light?It's about 21 inches. It's a decent size, but it looks like it's a medium from afar.Can I use it as a main source of light for my room ? what is the maximum wattage for the lamp?Yes. I use it a chandelier for my kitchen. it works great.Can I use this as a shade over an existing table lamp harp?Yes. You would need to assemble the ball, but provide an opening for it to cover the harp. I did it with my kitchen lamp shade that I wrapped it around the shade instead of removing it. it looks perfectly fine.Overall, I highly recommend!Like our review? After I was finished building The Great Pyramids, painting the Sistine Chapel, and sending a man to the moon, I decided to tackle building this lamp. I quickly realized I was over my head. Thank goodness for YouTube. Nice when finished and is now my greatest accomplishment.

these lanterns are awesome! easy to put together too....if u use youtube! My daughter loves them for her bedroom.

This thing is maddening! I am an intelligent woman (though apparently not very puzzle-oriented), and it took me several days, the instructions, and two YouTube videos to put it together. The instructions, along with the horrible illustrations, gave me very little insight. I can't put together a wildly 3 dimensional object with poorly drawn 2 dimensional pictures. But that's just me, I guess.That being said, it's very rewarding when it is finally together correctly, and it's *fabulously* beautiful. The enclosed cord is a little short for my uses, but I had a longer cord anyway. I would buy this again, especially as a gift for a real puzzle freak.P.S. The product description says that there are 30 pieces. There were actually 33. So don't do I like I did and get it all together only to take it apart again because I thought I somehow missed those 3 extra pieces.

This is such a cute lamp shade. I made one large ball out of my kit for a lamp. You have several options which are laid out in the instructions. I had a lot of fun putting this puzzle ball together. I did watch a YouTube video first and then followed along as I put it together. I took me about an hour to put it together. It would have been difficult without the video, the instructions aren't very clear. I bought the cord and color-changing light recommend by Amazon and it works perfectly. The changing colors make the light so neat! We hung it in our nursery, and I love that I can change the colors and brightness of the light to suit our needs. It looks really nice hanging up and was so much fun to put together. If you aren't into puzzles, it could be quite a challenge.

This is by far the coolest light we have in our house! When it first arrived I was excited to put it together and hang it up, but the assembly... oh, the assembly. Hubs tried to help but got easily frustrated. I, on the other hand, love puzzles and was able to figure it out quickly. I did watch a couple of YouTube videos (they go quickly so be prepared and set up your pieces like they do), and looked at the instructions. The first night I got more than halfway done with it but then started overthinking it and couldn't figure it out anymore so left it til the next day. The trick is not to overthink it and enjoy the process; it will turn out in the end.The pieces themselves are a heavy plastic so if you intend to put a lightbulb inside, I would recommend an LED bulb so it doesn't get hot and melt the pieces. Also, this does NOT come with the cord or lightbulb, so don't be disappointed when you only get the puzzle pieces. The other items are sold separately but for the money we spent on this, we got a super cool light -- and the LED bulb we got (off Amazon, too) changes colors so we have fun with it. Would highly recommend!

We love this lamp! Like others,difficult at first to figure out how to put it together but please just go to youtube and watch the video. Pause it and go step by step.took under hour to put it together. Highly recommended it!

This would be a five star review except for the so-called assembly instructions that came with it. As many others have commented, the included instructions are a joke. Fortunately there are some good videos on YouTube that helped me get it assembled in time for my daughter’s birthday. The finished product is very nice and even sturdier than I expected. It looks great with the color-changing LED bulb and the socket/cord set worked just fine, though I think the cord is a bit shorter than advertised. Note that both the socket/cord and the bulb are sold separately.
