The Art and Soul of Dune

The book demonstrates excellent balance between the visual aspect one can ask from an art book as well as highly detailed descriptions of the images and the story behind those images, making it a complete experience. Highly recommended for those who enjoyed the film.

This lovely book comes in its own outer slip case, and contains lots of information regarding the making of the first ‘Dune’ movie. What more can I say than if you are a fan buy yourself a copy.

I've just received this book and it's absolutely beautiful! Compared to LaPointe's equivalent book on Blade Runner 2049, this one both fits easier on the shelf and is packed with more pictures.Books like these are invaluable as documents of the whole process. So many wonderful artists have dreamed of Arrakis and their dreams are on display in this great volume. It's a very inspirational thing to leaf through, with a good variety of concept art for locations, vehicles, costumes and more, from a number of artists.My one gripe - the same one I'd say about the BR2049 one actually - is that there isn't the same level of detail in the text as you'd find in the superlative Making Of books by the late J W Rinzler. When it comes to these books, more is more! But that aside, I'm very glad I have this, so i can go and visit Arrakis whenever I want. Stunning stuff.

As a life long fan of the novel (my GOAT) and a believer that the movie is one of the greatest ever made, I am totally delighted by this book. It is immaculately presented eg. it comes in a cardboard sleeve that you don't see on the product images and the printing has produced texture on the pages.There is A LOT of information in this book, not just about the art, but background on the characters, story, settings etc. Whereas Lapointe's previous move art books are more dip in and out types with just a little text (eg. Blade Runner 2049), this one I really feel like I can sit down and read it for a while, whilst also enjoying the fabulous artwork.

How do you follow up the movie of the year? You produce the art of... book of the year. From cover to cover to everything in between, the quality of this neatly sized book is crammed with beautiful concept art and stills from the movie itself all printed on high quality paper.If you bought The Art and Soul of BR2049 and enjoyed it, this is better.In fact these books are so good that I'm going to order Art and Science of Arrival.

I have been a long term fan of Dune for many many years. And eagerly awaited the new movie. As with any movie a enjoy I lap up and concept art books that appear.This book like the movie delivered on every score. The book is full of sumptuous concept art and behind the scenes photos. The descriptions are in-depth and insightful. It's a heavy good-looking book and I cannot recommend enough.

Beautiful book, bought as a gift for my daughter who is an illustrator/animator, she was blown away by the detail and imagery in this book.Highly recommend

Tanya LaPointe’s book is a true keepsake, This beautifully and handsomely bound accounting of the making of Dune, feels like an artifact from the world it depicts. I breezed through it cover to cover when I got it and will definitely refer back to this beautiful tome. I bought both books in fact, as I was blown away by each film. Denis Villeneuve is a true stylist and his deep love and devotion to the Herbert books is palpable and bled into each frame of his two films. These tomes really give you the sense of the Herculean task it took to bring this superlative Dune adaption to life.From the beautiful set photographs behind the scenes, to the fully realized concept art, the book is accessible and filled with fun and interesting anecdotes from cast and crew.
