I have rarely ever written a review for anything, but in this case, I feel compelled to do so. The word masterpiece is so often thrown around, but this is one example of where that title is truly earnt. This is one of the most touching, inspirational and 'hope'-ful movies ever made. Some may call this movie overrated, but I strongly believe it deserves all the praise it can get. It is universally appealing and has something in it for everyone, with themes of friendship, struggle, perseverance, regret and most of all - redemption (as in the title). Even when things seem at their worst, there is always hope against all odds.“Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

This movie deals with the harsh reality of life and plumbs some of the depths and yet manages to come out as a "feel good" movie without being overly glib or sugary sweet.If you haven't seen it then you should watch it with a friend. Its one to have in your library.
