Volare: The Very Best Of Gipsy Kings

We are looking forward to a summer vacation in Spain and I purchased this CD to experience local culture as we make plans. There are a few songs that are immediately recognizable from their broad popularity. The entire CD is a wonderful burst of energy, color and melodies. We had this playing as our teenaged son's friends were grabbing a bite to eat in our kitchen and everyone was moving to the music. You simply cannot listen to this collection without wanting to dance! I'm sorry we haven't made it to one of the Gipsy Kings' performances at Chateau Ste. Michelle's summer concert series in Seattle. I hope they play in 2017. After listening to this CD many times, I'm now a big fan!

OK, I like this group and their sound, so no surprise that I found it excellent. Bought to replace an older compilation I gave away years ago. As usual, there is always the question of what songs to put on and which ones to leave off. This is one of the best compilation of an artists' biggest hits that I've encountered. Most of the old and some of the new. The instrumentals songs were very strong, would like a few more of them and a couple less of others, but hey, that's life.

No doubt like many others, I'd heard of the Gipsy Kings but never owned anything from them. After hearing their Spanish Buzz version of "You've Got a Friend In Me" in Toy Story 3, I had to hear more. We've listened to the whole album several times now, and enjoy the sound of this group. If you thought the Spanish Buzz theme was catchy enough to go download it, you'll probably like this as well!

Decent enough performance, but oh that recording. Fairly weak production work.

What a fun set of music this is - love the lively guitar, catchy, throaty vocals and the sheer movability of the music. It's hard to listen to without moving your feet - and my children would agree! Bem Bem Maria is a favorite track of mine, and the reason I purchased the album. I had Gypsy Kings years ago, but couldn't resist this song after hearing it on the soundtrack to "Bedazzled".

This double CD by the Gipsy Kings is one of my all-time favorites! I now have 2 copies of this CD and I introduce the Gipsy Kings to as many people as I possibly can. Everytime "Volare" plays, I feel like dancing! Just really great, infectious, "feel-good" music! You do not have to understand Spanish to enjoy!

these cd"s are more then I expected. I am glad I ordered it ,I have been listening to it since I received it.

Volare disk 1 is super cool; disk 2 is cool. I enjoy a lot listening both of them and they make my Latino heritage soar.

I chose this cd after first hearing the Gypsy Kings' rendition of Hotel California, whilst we drove through Arizona. The atomosphere was electric, the guitar exciting and the voices beautifully gritty. I love the rest too, it is much more than background music at a party and recalls the band's deeply Spanish background. I can't comment on the quality of the recording, this is not my area. The mechanics of delivery were efficient, as usual.

To anyone who likes Latin American style music this is a must as both CD's are excellent and are sheer joy to listen to with guarenteed toe tapping!
