Works well. We used them for a workshop far from our office. Great alternative and makes great coffee.Great for camping too!

This lil plastic pour over coffee maker is so easy to use and makes the Best cup of coffee. It's much easier to clean than a coffee maker. I only paid like $10 bucks for this. You just sit this on top of your mug, place a filter and your coffee grounds in it and pour hot water over the top. There's a little hole in the bottom that acts puts your coffee thru to the mug. The result is a much less acidic cup of coffee. Voila. Nice and Easy

I'll admit it, I'm one of the world's most finicky coffee lovers. I usually have just one large mug of coffee each morning, and it's got to be perfect.I just bought two of these RED ones for use at home and to bring along when we travel.Have been using the Melitta single cup drip cones for about 18 years. Started with their first design that had the little handle, three holes in the base, and a solid flange base -- so you couldn't see the level of coffee in your cup as it ran through the cone. Then progressed to the newer "one hole" for drip through style, still with the little handle and the solid flange base, which made better tasting coffee due to the greater infusion time between hot water and ground coffee.I first grabbed this newer style Melitta filter cone (in black) when I saw a it on sale at a local grocer. LIKE IT WAY BETTER than their older designs!!! The flange is slightly wider and is molded as an integral piece along with the cone, making it sturdier than the old design, and the opening on either side of the flange lets you keep an eye on the coffee level in the mug until it's right where you want it -- NO MORE coffee floods like we sometimes had with the old, solid flange style. The wider flange on this newest style fits over our slightly large coffee mugs (like those sold at Starbucks) securely, where the old design often would not and would sit tipped as we poured boiling hot water, so it is much more convenient and safer for our uses. There is still the single drip hole, and the coffee we make with it tastes great.Makes it easy to bring and enjoy our own coffee wherever and whenever we travel, which we always do. The only downside of the RED model is that it shows coffee dust whereas the BLACK one I originally had always appears pristinely clean. But the RED color is great for travel, since it really stands out.

I'll keep this short and sweet: This is another fine Melitta product, but has only one hole for draining the coffee. As other reviewers have mentioned, an additional hole or two can be easily drilled because the unit is plastic and doing so helps the brew drain a bit faster, without affecting the quality of the brew.Another note if you're looking to save money. Buy 100 coffee filters for a little over a buck at the used-to-be dollar store. Fold one in half, then fold the sides in using the free #2 filters provided with the filter holder as a model. You'll get fine coffee without the additional cost of branded filters. Just my $.02, YMMV.Much recommended over the non-Melitta manufactured holders, especially the heavy thick ceramic ones; they not only have just one hole, their mass sucks up the heat from the brewing coffee making the final product less warm than it should be. They also lack the cutouts that let you see how full the cup is getting, which this unit has. Add in that they're more expensive than this practical plastic Melitta unit and it's an easy decision -- buy the brand. Just my $.02, YMMV.

I bought a black one of this exact product years ago somewhere else, and somehow I lost it. It was a treasured kitchen gadget for brewing one cup at a time as single person. I immediately bought this again to replace the lost one because it is so easy and simple to use. Coffee is always fresh, and you can determine the brew strength by how much water you pour through. I bought the red colored one so that hopefully I never lose sight of it or misplace it again. I tried the other mesh filters and this one is the best design in my opinion. Number 2 coffee cones fit perfectly, and in a real pinch you can use a folded paper napkin or towel.

I had a Keurig for single cups of coffee, what a piece of garbage. It made the weakest cups of coffee I have ever had, it went to Goodwill. This is a little bit more work but well worth it. The bottom where it sits on top of your cup is wide enough to handle different size cups and there is a little lip so it doesn’t slide off, but you have to be a little bit careful. After running your water through it and your coffee is ready you just dump the grounds and filter in the garbage and run hot water through the product to clean it and that’s it.
