Perfect for isometric strength testing
For a long time now I've searched high and low for an affordable crane scale with a peak hold feature. Being in the UK, these are nigh on impossible to find - at least at a reasonable price - So when I saw that I could get one of these shipped to the UK, I decided to take a chance and buy one. I'm extremely glad I did. I paid extra for fast shipping and it arrived in four days. That was a nice surprise and made the small amount extra I paid over standard shipping more than worth it. Upon opening the box I was a little apprehensive about whether or not the Peak Hold feature would be on this scale. After all, manufacturers often change models without notice and can forget to update descriptions. Fortunately I needn't have worried, as pressing hold once enables this feature. The word 'Hold' appears in the display and (for isometric purposes) once I'd pulled my maximum and set the device down, the peak force was still displayed. This number remains until you once again press hold to reset the scale back to zero. For each attempt you have to press hold before pulling or pushing, for the peak hold feature to work. I'd prefer the peak hold feature to remain active once turned on and set, but it's a minor inconvenience. The build quality of the device is certainly good enough for my purposes. The case is made of metal and the buttons and display work as they should. In the box was also a long shackle with a hole in the bolt for a split pin and a slip through s-hook. I decided to use a pair of climbing carabiners instead for ease. The holes in either end of the scale that these go through are slightly smaller in diameter than on my other crane scale, but it wasn't a problem. Although I have no qualms about the build quality, I've decided to use this scale for once fortnightly or monthly strength testing. This is simply because being difficult to get hold of, I don't want to have to buy another (if I can even find another) down the road. It may hold up to repeated daily use just fine. I just don't know. So, for the isometric aficionados out there, yes, this works and works well. Would I buy another? I hope I never have to, but yes, most definitely. Notes for isometrics. Combine this crane scale with a long climbing daisy chain strap, a flat shoulder width wooden or iron bar to stand on and a bar to push or pull and most barbell exercises can be replicated. Climbing carabiners are optional, but very useful. Make or acquire a single handle and most dumbbell exercises can be measured and trained as well. I disassembled my older crane scale and turned the display around, so that I can see how much I'm pulling. It's an easy job, but requires a little care as the load plate wires are very thin. I can now test my maximum strength on the Klau crane scale and perform isometric holds at whatever percentage of max I want with my cheaper modified one. It's almost the perfect isometric exercise setup.

Compound Bow Draw Scale
If your on here looking for a compound bow scale then you found it. I really did not like the looks of the draw scales that are used in a normal draw position, they are plastic, look flimsy and was afraid I would end up dry firing my quite expensive Mathews Phase4. This scale is built very very well and has the elusive HOLD option! yep its 30$ more than all the other scales that look exactly the same but don't have hold. I'm sure its a very simple software change for the manufacturer but in any case this one has it. If you have never used an overhead scale to test a compound bow then heed this warning.. PULL SLOWLY when drawing past the let off.. if you pull too fast you will bottom out the bow too fast and potentially de-string the bow resulting in a dry fire.. I know this because I did it! Scale works great and is consistent.

Can't Weigh 1lb Accurately
I've confirmed that this scale is unable to accurately weight 1 lb. AI says this (unknown how accurate it is though): Above ~4โ5 lb, the scale operates within its designed parameters. With 0.2 lb resolution, readings are stable and meaningful at 10 lb, 20 lb, etc. At 50 lb, youโll see increments like 49.8, 50.0, 50.2 lb There's no manufacturer website or support. Nowhere to ask questions. This type of information should be clearly displayed somewhere. Otherwise, the build quality of this scale feels very good and the features are well thought out and simple. Maybe I'm being unrealistic but I thought a digital scale to one decimal place would be capable of weighing accuracy at any weight under its max weight.

Low Cost Overcoming Isometrics Measuring Tool
I have been looking for tool to quantify overcoming isometric strength (TSC) training that was able to record output without having to look at the screen or push a button which can be very awkward or the need for a 2nd person to watch the screen output. Also looking for a low cost alternative to the Iso Chain for $500 and the peak hold feature on this mini crane scale, which most similar scales are missing, is perfect for the recording progress.

This thing is the BEST!
It's better than I had hoped it would be. Comes in a nice box with three off-brand AA alkaline batteries. You'll want to read the book (English) to figure out the details. I chose this one because it has a peak-hold function. This is easy to engage, and to re-set. There is a slight delay to reading a dynamic load - maybe by design - about one second maybe. There is a setup mode where you can program or disable the auto-shutoff time and the backlight time. There are some other things in the setup menu that aren't defined in the manual, so I left them alone. Maybe one of them is the settling time. The only thing that I DON'T like is that it comes up in kilogram mode every time I power it on. Maybe that is in the setup menu, too. I'll have to look. It does kgf, lbf, and N units. I suppose it would be nice if it had better resolution. But, for the price, it'll do. I plan to use it on my garage electric hoist that we use for butchering and all sorts of other things. I also have a plan to use it for a low-budget tensile tester with the peak-hold feature.

Works well, has peak hold function and different units.
I used this for basic measurement of isometric strength-it has worked out great.

Hold function not working
The hold function does not seem to be working on newer orders of this product. I have tried messaging the seller but no response

Now THIS is a scale
I have had a few over the years, from spring scales like the Pelouze, and other digital scales from parts known and unknown, expensive and inexpensive, with questionable accuracy and more questionable ruggedness. I use scales to measure draw weights on bows, and for various other hunting-fishing uses. They are occasionally dropped, and generally take some abuse along the way. This scale is substantial both in size and in build. It is also dead-on accurate for my uses, generally sub-100#. It will weigh up to 600# per the manufacturer. I am happy to find it for a reasonable price here on Amazon.
