Wilkin & Sons, Mincemeat, 8.4 Ounce

Second time I've gotten this. The flavor is fine. You'll read other reviews that talk about "too sour" or "too sweet". This doesn't matter to me because is use it as 1 component of a "base" that I extend/stretch with my own additions (apples, nuts, dried berries, booze, and spices).If you wanted to make a real American pie with this, you would need 5+ jars. The jars are small. It is more intended for an English style shortbread mincemeat biscuit or cookie.A real pie could get a bit expensive just using the jars. Personally, I don't think I would prefer the flavor of a pie made with 100% of this brand. That said, that was never my intention.I'll be buying it again next year.

This product contained currants. Not a real problem. Just unexpected. Still a good product, though not as good as my usual.

For decades I've used Crosse & Blackwell mincemeat with rum & brandy. Love the flavor, and so do our friends and family. This year I waited too long to order the jar, there was none left. I ordered this instead for the first time. It was a lot drier and not much of a flavor compared to what we're used to. I won't order this again.

This is my husband's go to mincemeat ! He is a mincemeat snob. He makes mincemeat pies, tarts and recently I made mincemeat cookies. We try to keep some of these in our pantry at all times. It really his his winter fruit ! It is pricey but for us well worth the price. Glad we can continue finding it online and ordering. Never find it in a local store.

Taste is bad

Absolute essential for the very best mince pies for Vhristmas!

Oh my gosh! You'd need three of these for a pie, and so expensive! Never again! It does taste delicious though!

It's too small I am going to have to purchase another one.
