In relation to killing flies, this product is extremely animal friendly as no flies were harmed whatsoever. I have yet to see a fly injured in any way by this product. Flies clearly seem to avoid the device deciding to go absolutely anywhere else rather than to the device, which is somewhat like my home town in the Midlands. I have had more luck with a rolled newspaper than using this product, its an utter waste of money, buying this product is like having an onion or a bad partner, it will only make you cry. Avoid this product like Covid 19!

I've been trying to get rid of the little black flies that seem to be coming from our houseplants for ages. I tried all the natural remedies using apple cider vinegar etc. Tried this and KAPOW! After a couple of days of CRACK! BANG! ZAP! they are all gone - vaporised in fact. The only downside is the power cable is not very long - only about 1 meter, and it goes into the top of the unit, meaning you lose a bit of length if you're plugging it in from a low socket.

A while ago I reviewed this and wasn't sure that it worked. I can confirm the lamp does definitely work and it's killed many mosquito type bugs that we seem to have a plague of. Despite it being colder weather it's killing a few every night. As I have lymphedema after a cancer operation, I cannot afford to bitten as it can cause to cellulitis and will make the condition worse. I can at least sleep nights knowing my lamp is doing it's job :)

For the price this really does a good job. I've got a very old house and things often die under the floorboards. When the flies come this attracts the smaller ones and kills them and does a good job on the bigger ones too. Although a lot of them it will just stun so they make a lot of noise in the bottom tray.I had to put it in a corner as that worked a lot better for the big flies that will go behind it rather than straight to it. The bigger one is a safer bet.

Absolutely fantastic!We had a fruit fly invasion and after trying and failing with everything that Google suggested, decided to buy this.It’s very loud when zapping, scared me every time it caught a fly, hubby thinks it hilarious. So we use it at night on the kitchen table. The purple light (only light at night) attracts the annoying fruit flys and I clean it in the morning. Will definitely use it in the summer for big flys and mosquitoes too!I also used the yellow sticky paper to catch them during the day and it works a treat!

I’m not sure that flies are overly attracted to it or maybe they’ve just become wise to it after 3 days!! But it doesn’t seem to control the fly issue I have. Yes, it kills flies if they fly into the lamp but it’s not the solution I’d hoped for! Better at night when the purple bulbs shine brightest, but very loud when a fly does get zapped, which tends to wake my dogs - who stir us!! Overall I’d give it 3.5 out of 5. I just wish it attracted them more! Having said that it’s better than the bat zapper I bought! Which is very labour intensive! 🙈

I have had this set up on a table directly adjacent to the bed switched on at night and over the last few weeks it has not killed a single mosquito or indeed any insect - the unit remains completely pristine and the drawer remains empty, the little brush unused. I definitely have mosquitoes because I can hear them and I am getting bites over night.Furthermore, the unit arrived with one of the two lamp bars not functioning. Luckily it comes with a spare and that did the trick, however not a great start. Presumably the manufacturer expects the bars to have a short life.While the unit looks reasonably well made and the lamps switches on it seems to have no function at all. Good luck!

Great for capturing months and midges. Bluebottles and other house flies dint go near it. Bought it for my kitchen, live nearva refuse site so getcalot of flies in summer. Can leave back door open at night and hear the zap as things fly into it. Easy to clean and empty tray.
