Super cool helmet. My son wore this to a Renaissance festival where him and his buddies all dressed as Spartans. They said the helmet was comfortable and it looked super cool. You may have to add padding or something because the fit was a bit big and he has an adult sized head. I would not hesitate to recommend this.

I just received this and figured I would write the review immediately. The box arrived via DHL, signing required which I really like for valuable stuff.Anyway, the box was smaller than expected, but no worries there. When I opened it, every component was individually wrapped in either bubble wrap, or cardboard paper and tape. It was all arranged perfectly to fit in that efficiently sized box. But I was worried about the plume until, After I pulled everything out, it was laying perfectly wrapped and not folded at all, which is pretty amazing when you consider and see how awesome the plume is. The helmet was in a clear plastic bag, then wrapped in bubble wrap. Assembly of the plume to the helmet was easy, although I may end up painting the base of the plume since it is stock wood color and a sliver of it is exposed where it inserts into the helmet. But it is solid in its fit inside the helmet plume track for sure!Helmet provides surprisingly good visibility and you can hear due the ear slots being cut up just high enough, without sacrificing protection. Weight doesn't seem to be an issue when worn, neither does height of plume. Yeah, I could see someone being pretty effective in battle with one of these on.The base stand has been made with quality workmanship and is well stained with a nice finish. It is a 3 piece, and easily assembled. It is solid, but the screws could have been tapped in a few more millimeters to ensure the joints were all very flush without risking the cracking of the base. There is a slight gap, hardly noticeable except to me. But still great work and a great look. It also came with a cool leather type cap. This will be in my office and can be displayed as is.Looks great on the stand and it fits, so if folks want to try it on, they can wear it with ease, unless they have a REALLY big head.

The helmet is well made and looks awesome as a set piece. Looks great on the stand and seems to be made with quality materials. If you want to wear it, however, you need to be willing to fiddle with the fit. I had to stuff some napkins into the plume section to keep the horse-hair from falling out. There's no adhesive or screw that keeps it in. Additionally, the inside of the helmet doesn't have padding or a suspension system to keep your eyes level with the eye holes in the front. Again, I had to get a bit creative to make it wearable. I used napkins again as padding and duct-taped them into pads in the back of neck, the forehead, and on the cheek plates. That seemed to do the trick as it kept the helmet from moving side to side and kept my eyes level with the openings in the front. I added some pictures so you can see how I modified the inside of it to make it fit.Long story short, great piece of artwork if you don't plan on wearing it. If you DO decide to strap it on and wear it, you need to get creative to get it to fit your head and not wobble around. I added pictures

It was a huge hit for my son who went to a university with a Spartan mascot. He could even get it on his head! It was well packed and arrived in great shape except for one thing. The packaging forced the horsehair trim to lean way over to one side, which spoiled the look to me, but my son was thrilled. My son-in-law was jealous, so I’ve ordered another all the same. Would appreciate advice as to how to reshape the hair trim.

I am disappointed with the quality of this piece. As you can see from the pic the wood base that holds the plume is too large for the slot it was designed for. Trust me, it is seated all the way in. I had to paint the visible wood black to match the helmet color. You can also see a small dent on the top. Well, it was neatly packaged, the wood base looks good and it came with a cap to put on under the helmet. The next issue I had was the helmet slips off the base. The base is flat and smooth, and the inside of the helmet is concave. I use the cap to hold the helmet steady, but the slightest touch knocks it off center. Also, the finish is flat and not glossy like the pic the seller showed. I hope this is not an American made product :(

The Helmit is nice, but came with some damage, poorly packaged and because the head dress was not secure it moved over the top of the helmet causing scratches, also in many places the paint is rubbed out showing the metal underneath.Otherwise a good piece.

Although the initial impact of viewing the piece is pretty good, the actual craftsmanship is pretty poor. The plume merely sets in place- there is nothing to prevent it from popping out if the helmet was actually being worn; the ridge that holds the plume is supposed to be secured in place by two screws, but the holes don't align so the piece doesn't fully rest on the body of the helmet; the leather head strap is not secured in the crown of the helmet so it is ultimately useless (whatever adhesive was used was not doing its job).All of this was apparent within the first two or three minutes of unboxing, Since it's basically just going to be sitting on a pedestal as decor I'm not bothering with returning it, but if anyone actually wanted to use this for cosplay they would be pretty disappointed.

Be sure you check your measurements before purchase if you plan on wearing this. It runs very small. A teen might be ae to wear it but normal sized adult heads might have slight difficulty unless you have a small head.Other than that. This Helmet is well put together, sturdy, looks great for display.

When it arrived it was better than I had expected. First of all it arrived about 3 weeks earlier than what it had first said. Second the quality of the helmet exceeded my expectations.

Great for my costume's husband
