Beautiful, Accurate, Easy to Read
It's a splurge considering you can buy similar sized globes for under $50, but this is one is beautiful enough to display in the living room, not a child's bedroom. The things that make it worth the price:-- the raised relief maps for mountains (although I do wish they could properly indicate ocean trenches)-- colors. brass base is muted and tasteful; the colors on the globe -- a light parchment for the oceans and bluish land masses -- go with everything.-- geography is perfect. Hawaii has not been forgotten! It's also really easy to read. I looked at some other globes that boast "over 3500 places" and found them extremely difficult to read, especially in the 12" size. This globe still has smaller cities like Waco, Texas, but it's not overly crowded.-- I love the time zone indicator. It's a tiny plastic disc on top, but very useful.--It's light which at first I thought was a negative, but you still have to pick up the globe to see Antarctica. My next globe will have the double axis, but this one is perfect for now (considering there is a six-year-old in the house).I almost didn't buy this because of the negative reviews, but I've seen this brand of globe at high-end stores, and I thought they were great. If I'm being REEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLY nit-picky, I noticed a tiny air bubble along the equator. But it is not at all noticeable. I only mention it because I can see how someone that paid $100 for a globe would expect perfection. I say buy it. Kids are going to drop it and scratch it up eventually. It should be something that gets used -- I'm paying for the looks and the accuracy. Oh, I purchased this alongside the book Atlas Obscura and keep them both on the coffee table.

A good contemporary globe
This globe is reasonably contemporary (what happens out in the world will inevitably change geo-global surfaces.) I really like the cream colored background, and the smoothness with which this globe rotates. There are a couple places where the paper-ish background buckles, not sufficient to worry about. For the price, I am seriously satisfied. Not perfect, but I find this globe to be all I really need it to be - something I can put on my desk, and enjoy looking at. I also appreciate that elevations are at how we can ascertain from fingertips. AND that we get an idea, not so easily seen, form this 3-D perspective as opposed to a generic 2-D one.

Best Money I've spend for myself and Grands!
Not only do my grandchildren love the globe but I have it in my newly decorated office and love looking at it on my desk every day. I never knew how much I missed having a globe in the house-- since I was a kid! We use it all the time to decide where the children and I are gong to take imaginary trips and see where we have to go from and where we have to fly over.Love it-- super high quality-- am going to buy this for my other grands for Christmas!

A globe, but nothing morr.
Was looking for a heavy, well made globe and thought this one said it weighed 5 lbs. No where near 5 lbs. Maybe 1 lb. It's still easy to eat with no defects, but nonetheless cheap, light weight materials. It would break if something was placed on it or it were to drop. Not high quality. Elementary school quality.

Very pleased
Very pleased over all. The hemisphere's line up very well. Looks beautiful. I love the antique colors vs. the traditional blues and greens. My only complaint would be that the base is hollow. This makes the globe top heavy. It isn't a great big deal, but if you have little ones as I do, you may want to know that. I wanted to buy one with a wood base thinking it would add weight as well as richness, but they were too expensive. For the money, I am very happy with this globe.

Replogle Globes Grosvenor Globe
I am very happy about this globe. I've wanted one for a long time. My family enjoys seeing where other countries are in perspective to the United States. My only problem with the order was that I thought I ordered the blue background globe (shown) and I received the tan background globe. It looks good enough I decided not to try and exchange it.

The globe was exactly as pictured and described.
I was a little concerned that the quality of the globe would be weak but that was not the case. It is accurate and at the points where the flat print out edges hat to meet on the round globe, it was done very well. I'm very glad that I purchased this globe.

Nice, but some issues with quality
I liked the antique-ish coloring of the globe when I was choosing one to buy. That part lived up to expectations when the globe arrived. However, for the price I paid, the quality was just a bit below what I think it should have been. I had read similar reviews, and I guess I was just hoping to get a better one from the batch. The seams do not line up in some places, making the longitudinal lines askew occasionally. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with what I got.
