Rock Ridge MagicUltimate Red Shim Card with Ultimate Lethal Tender - Any Coin Edition

I picked this up in hopes it was a magnetic shim, but it isn't. It works WITH magnets, but it doesn't contain one; it's just a metal shim.I was actually pretty disappointed in the card itself. I'm not sure if it happened during shipping or not (I suspect not), but when I got it, the card was very bowed, with a very distinctive concave face. I tried unbending it, but got nowhere.There were also several traces of glue on both sides of the card, which were easy enough to wipe off with a moistened finger. The two halves of my card also do not line up very well, so even to some casual observers it looks like a pair of cards sitting there. The shim itself is visible as a ridged outline on the back of the card, and somewhat less on the front, and this ridge catches light quite readily. And finally, the face of the card is not the same texture as the back; it's smooth, and doesn't match any regular Riderback Bicycle cards, as you can see in the photos.As another reviewer mentioned, the shell isn't really convincing either, and just looks like it has a red dot on it. You can press it down a bit, as it is a piece of felt that's see through a hole, but there's not a lot of material to work with on the inside; it's an actual dot of material the same size as the hole, stuck on a plastic sheet, and it's not even the same red as the pouch. You could pick up a roll of  Red Velvet Self Adhesive Paper , which is the same color as the dot, and use that to make a larger surface to work on.Normally the stuff I get from Rock Ridge is good quality, but this time, not so much, but I won't hold it against them. If you're just after a good shimmed card, I recommend  the one from Bicycle .

Works perfect. The coin is boring so have your favorite artist friend paint it with a cool design. Even as is, with a fun routine, you will surprise everyone. The card looks really good from a few feet away. In low light you can have spectators right next to you.

each piece is very high quality. The shim card is much better than most I have seen over the years. This should last many uses and years.
