Pretty and Effective!
Having never even heard of a glass nail file, I thought I'd like to give it a try since I just started doing my nails again. That is why I requested this from Vine. This review is for: ILSTAR PROFESSIONAL MAGIC NAIL SHINER, Premium Glass Nail Shiner with a portable pouch, Use in 4 Way - File, Pusher, B.I requested the George Seurat one because I thought it was pretty and it is. This file took a little getting used to. One of the things I like best is that because it's glass, you can file your nails both ways, which speeds the process up quite a bit. Well, it would-except the file is of fine grit, so if you're just touching up-you're good, but if you're filing for the first time in a while, it would take a while for you to get your nails shaped with this. The buffer works great and will shine up your nails better than most clear coat polishes.Overall, I'm happy with this file and it would make a great gift for that DIY nail person!

Beautiful, stylish. Quality 'shiner' buffing file. Pricey.
This is more than just a glass 'shiner' buffing nail file, it's an object d'art. As such, I expected a nicer presentation, so that it could be more giftable. The presentation is bit disappointing, unfortunately. The file is a quality product, with a fine grit pattern.George Seurat's The Circus is one of my niece's favorite paintings. So, she will be delighted to receive this nail file. Having famous works of art as decorative elements is a fantastic idea. Although, I wonder if a Salvador Dali version would have a bent (melting) glass file? haha. Anyway, the section of the painting makes it very evident that it is from The Circus.Attached are photos to show real world images, with a ruler for size reference. I show close ups of the glass file in two parts, to provide better views of the artwork. At $16, this is an expensive glass file. But that price is mitigated by the quality of art reproduction, although a thin slice. Nevertheless, it's still a pricey upgrade.Based on these considerations and impressions, it earns a 4.25 - 4.5 star rating, with a high level recommendation.

Wonderful, works so well
-I have come to really appreciate glass files due to how smooth they make the edges of my nails but also being able to smooth out any ridges in my nails without causing damage.-Oddly enough my father (in his 60s) needed a file due to snagging a nail, used this, and is now in love with it. He likes the fact it is sturdy and the soft back makes it easy for his RA effected hands to grip.-My only complaint with this is that glass files really need to come in a hard case due to the ease of which they break

A beautiful nail tool, but works better as a buffer
I'm not a fan of metal files of traditional emory boards because they're too harsh on my nails. This file is not only practical, it's gentle and beautiful. To start, the file is gentle on the nail's surface. This file doesn't seem to tear like a metal file does. It is a bit hard to get used to, though. I found this did a great job polishing and buffing the surface of my nail, but I much preferred a Czech glass file to round and shape the edges. The print on this tool is bright and vibrant, so for gifting purposes, it would be well received. Overall, I would rate this better as a nail buffer than a file. When used in tandem with a Czech file, I think it pairs perfectly.

For some, it's probably fine - just not my type.
Well, this little nail file/buffer is different. Not sure if it's what I was hoping it would do to jazz up my fingernails. I am a DIY kind of person when it comes to "doing" my nails. No polish, just neat, short nails. I've tried all types of files made from different materials, and this one looked interesting. For me, it's actually very lightweight and weird to use. It's made of tempered glass with a soft Silicone covering on one side. The covering has lovely artwork imbedded in it, and apparently that's the buffer, polisher side . The glass has a fine grit for the actual filing, but I found it to be rather puny, compared to what I usually use. Just my opinion! The file, nope - it's called a Magic Nail Shiner, is about 4 3/4" long and a little over 1/2" wide. For some, this would be fine, but apparently I prefer something with a little more oomph!

Amazing shine
Easy to use glass polishing tool, just a few strokes of this file will produce a shine that looks like polish. This tool is one you can continue to use on a regular basis because it is easy to renew by cleaning. There is one draw back to this file, nails with bumps or prominent ridges are difficult to shine. Your nails can be shiny without the use of chemicals

Shiny, shiny nails
I can't really wear nail polish so, colors and even clear coats are not an option for me. However, buffing and shining my nails is and a good nail shiner can give very glossy, shiny results that rival a clear coat without actually using any polish. This i=nail shiner does just that in a very short time and is reusable and washable making it last so much longer than the foam shiners I've used in the past. Unlike the abrasive files I've used before this one doesn't hurt if it rubs over my skin either. It's easy to use, convenient, long-lasting and hygienic. I think considering how long this will last that the price is reasonable.
