BABCOCK BW130-4 Wood Type III Stool, 24"

This is really a light built ladder. Notice, the name of the product is "Type III Stool" ??? Maybe OK for a plant stand but if you are looking for a real wood 2 step ladder you are probably out of luck. This only has a duty rating of 200 lbs. That probably lets more than half of the people in the USA out. Then if by chance you do weigh less than 200 lbs. and want to carry something up the ladder with you because you are actually using it as a ladder & not a plant stand, you will be over the duty rating of the ladder. I have an old Blue Ribbon 24" step ladder I bought new maybe 40 years ago and it is built like a tank. I also had an old light aluminum 2 step that collapsed on me while lifting a hood on a tractor so wanted another wooden one like the Blue Ribbon brand made in Goshen, IN. They seem to be non-existent.

Okay, this is a ladder, true. But that's not why it was purchased. It's being used to hold a pot of flowers or fruit (real ones). Of course artificial ones may be used if absolutely necessary. Great conversation piece. Easily moved to any desired location, even our on the porch. Smaller items may be placed on the two rungs. One guest suggested it should be painted. I disagree. It's the natural color of the wood that makes this a decorative piece.

This is a very strange item; I own more than one that is similar; when I compare this to another one, the "front" legs are too long and will need to be cut off about 1.25 inches so that the folded ladder will stand on its own; unfolded, it does seem to be o.k.; the wood is marred in several spots from poor packaging and shipping damage.

The ladder is very sturdy. Like the single piece top. Had one very similar for several years, and this one appears somewhat stronger and stable because of the top piece. No wobble.

I like that it is wood, a traditional step ladder that is easy to handle and move.

These little ladders are helpful to me around my home. I had one that I'd had for years and years and when it broke, I knew I'd be buying another. It's just right for me.

This is just what I wanted.
