depends on what u r gluing. do not advise using it with any liquid

Is this product good to use?

Depends on your needs. This is a good everyday glue, typical for school use. It will work well on paper projects and basic arts and crafts. I have used it for my classroom supply of glue for years (kindergarten students). It will not work well for heavier gluing needs such as fabrics, heavier craft pieces or to repair broken items.

Does this have a permanent(ish) hold without making paper wet or wavy? The clear stick I use now doesn't hold at all.

Yes permanent ish paper gets a little wavy not wet then dries smooth

This might sound weird, but will this come out of clothes if i use it for embroidery sewing?
