346 Rust Converter, 1 qt Bottle

My Cast Iron Urns were rusting out inside, so I bought this product to help save them. I believe it has done exactly that. After scraping the rust from the surface, then wire brushing, I applied this solution. It was magic the rust wasconverted into a primer(?) or coating that turned mostly Black. I then painted the urns with an oil paint for outdoor use. The urns have been outside for 5 months now, in Humid Florida with no sign of rust. This product is amazing.

I love this rust converter. I've used it often. Interior rust stays gone. With a top coat of biscuit color appliance paint, the baseboard heater looks good as new. The bath tub with toes is looking sprightly, too. Bath tubs with toes do well with an overcoat of appliance paint as well, either biscuit for a nice off-white tone, or plain white with a marble tile floor. The large iron farm bell outside stood up to the elements for a long time, but probably could use another coat ... it's been over 20 years :-)I've heard that those who use it where there is no rust have problems, but since I've only used it on rust, I wouldn't know. Always did fine for me.

I have used this to convert/seal rusted places on a Yamaha Wolverine I owned several years ago, and just yesterday on my motor home. Works like a charm. Within 20 minutes, the rust was converted and sealed.

Only type of rust converter I buy. Repainting equipment, used on all rust areas & don't have to worry about the rust coming back through the paint. Very simple to use

This worked well turning rust black and making a nice finish. My problem came after treating a metal railing. After it dried a day and before I was able to second coat, rain came and stained my concrete around the railing black from what I am to assume was the converter product coming off the railing. I was able to clean most of it off but it was inconvenient. Note that this product is tannic acid based. Some of the other converters also use organic acids of some sort. I will try something else next time but it could be this is the nature of these products??
