Had another brand (the green one) for a few years but eventually it rusted & a wheel fell off.Looked to replace it with the same model but everyone else was saying their wheels were falling off too so time for a different model!This one is a bit more expensive but it is a very reputable make & had good reviews.It's well made, easy to assemble & works very well. What really sold it for me is the handle on top which closes the feeder at the bottom when you let it go. This may not sound much but anyone who has scorched their grass when filling their spreader or even when turning it round will tell you this is a god send.Expensive but definitely worth it.

Bought to replace another spreader which did NOT offer a convenient hand control.The hand control on this unit is entirely sensible and simple to set, allowing instant response at the spreading holes, thus saving over-use of product. Thanks to another reviewer, I took action to strengthen the plastic around the holes into which the essential return spring locates. I cut two short pieces if wiring flex insulation and used these as sleeves over the ends of the spring. It was comparatively easy to relocate the spring into its location together with the pieces of flex insulation. Hopefully this should eliminate any unwanted wear in the spring locating holes. This is an excellent product with well constructed parts. Please remember to wash it out with water after each use and it should stay mobile.

Well made and sturdy, But there seems to be an obvious design flaw. Brand new, never used, one could see that the anchor points for the spring that closes the shutter were already being cut into by the spring. This will clearly fail in time. I added some aluminium ferrules to protect the anchor points, probably £0.001 each. See photo

I bought this to replace my old Scotts spreader which has disintegrated. Standard delivery took only 3 days. As long as you have a cross-head screwdriver and a fairly strong wrist for the self-tapping screws ,it's dead easy to assemble (instructions are provided). It is lightweight and sturdy. I love the attached foot which keeps it level for filling. The only negative is that a minor design change would allow assembly for left or right handed trigger operation. But then, I can always tow it behind me. Very glad I decided to pay the extra for quality.

As I've 400 m2 of lawn I needed a spreader to weed and feed. This was supposed to be compatable with theweed and feed manufacturer. They recommended 35 gr/m2 which was supposedly setting 4. However, setting 4 was putting far too much on. I put it down to setting 1 which was still generous. The areas I had overdosed are scorched but hopefully will recover. Apart from that it was easy to assemble and is quite sturdy. It will clog up if the fertiliser is damp.

Easy to assemble and function is great

Useless unless you provide your own screws. Contacted gardena and they were also useless. Avoid.
