It has practical advice for arranging furniture, choosing paints and other materials, combining things. I haven't received the book yet, but look forward to getting it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an overview on interior design , but not a truly in depth insight into interior design.

My favorite home decorating book!
I owned this book years ago and lost it during a move. No other book could really replace it for me so I finally went ahead and ordered another copy from Amazon. This book has a lot of different styles, but I especially love it that it has quite a few ideas for traditional/country/provence and that type of decorating styles, since those are my favorite. Good book, little dated.
I gave this book 4 stars because the information in it is highly valuable, but a bit dated. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an overview on interior design , but not a truly in depth insight into interior design.

Love the tips as much as the photos
Some of this edition's information and styling is dated, but the special tip sections and especially color advice are timeless.

Good Decorating Ideas
I pull out this book from time-to-time and go through it front-to-back. I find many very good ideas for decorating, including wall color, and many other essentials for putting together a good looking room.

Best book yet!
I've ordered and read many home decorating books in the past 2-3 years. This is one that I've found to be the best yet. It gives the reader insight and practicality of achieving desired "looks".
