After installing porcelain tile backsplash in the kitchen, the outlet boxes were more than a 1/2:” behind the tile surface. I was able to install this without doing any wiring. Just turned off the breaker, unscrewed the outles from the box, slid the box extension over the outlet, and screwed the outlet back into the box (extended screws).

Easy to use, does the job. I ordered these a few years ago and they came with the long 2" screws that are needed for installation. This order did not include any screws so I had to run to Home Depot to get the 6-32 screws Subtracted 1 star for that.

I used two of these, with one modified, to repair an in-wall junction box. The plastic junction box had a 2 1/2x2 inch hole in the one side. I was able to place these two extenders, one inside the other, concertina fashion to repair the box. I did first remove the wires.

I needed to bring an outlet into a built in book-case to prevent it from being covered. This worked as advertised to allow me to pull the outlet forward.I first tried trimming it to make it shorter with snips, which caused the plastic to crack much deeper than I intended. A second attempt at trimming the box extender with a pair of kitchen shears worked far better. So my only warning is that the plastic can be a little brittle. (And hence the four and not five star review.)

One of the only things that work well for outlets where a tiled backsplash was added.The one like this in hardware stores were steel and too big and would not slide to adjust inside a metal box in the wall like this does. Also getting the plastic washers to go underneath the screws does not work as they leave the sides exposed. Strange how so many people are ok with this. This is what is safer and works better than those options at many hardware stores.

This fixed our problem perfectly. The plaster was too thick, applied after the electrical boxes were in position. On top of that, the electrical box in question was cock-eyed a bit. This outlet extender allowed me to tweak the position of the Decora-style double switch so it looks pretty normal now.

Much better than what I could find locally - I tiled my backsplash and needed to extend a bunch of outlets. These were nice quality and very easy to use. Found all the different sizes I needed. Only issue was with the bulky GFI outlet, which didn't fit through easily - as other reviewers stated, you can use strong scissors to cut it and make it work.

I needed this for a kitchen project to pass code, this was the only place I could find one

Didn't come with mounting screws....quick trip to home Depot 6/32 machine screws installed

These Electrical Box extenders come with NO SCREWS. If you need longer screws, that's another trip to the hardware store.

Works exactly as designed even with the 3 gang box. Very happy with this purchase
