HPSauce Topdown 450G (Pack of 4)

Tried this on recommendation of UK friend and love it! It’s great on burgers, scrambled eggs, French fries! Has a tasty vinegar edge to it that spices up…anything!

Personally I prefer a medium rare steak that has just rested in a butter topping for 5-10 minutes to get to 135 degrees, however my wife prefers a little sauce with her steak. On occasion I will try a sauce also. We both agree this is one of the best. My wife loves this the most while I like this and the Heinz 57 sauce about the same. They both have very different tastes.People have commented that it is no longer made in the U.K. Ok, BMW X5s are not made in Germany, they are made in South Carolina, USA. Can you follow a recipe? Who cares that it is now made in the Netherlands. Some people have also commented that it is sweet. Perhaps they have purchased HP Chicken & Rib which is more prevalent in the USA and is sweeter with oranges and mango.Note: It says plastic bottles but both times I got glass.I have purchase the 4 bottle pack 2 times. The first time all was well. The second time 2 jars broke in shipping. I called Amazon customer service and they shipped me a new pack of 4 even though only 2 were broken. I did not have to ship anything back. Compliments to Amazon on that one.

It tastes great. You can use in stews or in marinades or just as a steak sauce. I mixed it with ground beef to make burgers and they were delicious.

Updated Review from 2021Here is a comparison between the Original HP Sauce Recipe and the New Recipe. I have bottles to compare and posted the photos.Nutrition ComparisonOriginal (Serving Size 17g) Fat 0g Sodium .19g Carbs 5gNew (Serving Size 15g, there are two columns on new bottle. See far right column) Fat .1g Sodium .18g Carbs 4.2gSo, the new recipe is not really sweeter but, it does have a little less salt. You can see that salt is further down on the ingredient list which means they used less of it. Unfortunately, the new formula does taste slightly different because they adjusted the vinegar content (malt vinegar was first but is now second and spirit vinegar was fourth but now fifth), removed the onion extract and added an unknown "Flavourings" ingredient.Here is the response I received from the manufacturer when I questioned why they changed the recipe."Thank you for getting in touch about our HP Brown Sauce.We reduced the Salt level in 2017, but there have been no recent recipe adjustments."I prefer the Original Recipe but, the New is still tasty and I will probably continue to buy it (just not as much).Original Review from 2011I live in the USA and I love the original HP sauce from England. I had found an American version of it a long time ago at a local grocery store but, it was nothing like the original. I put this stuff on steaks, burgers, potatoes, stews, perogies, cabbage etc...I prefer this over ketchup or any other sauce any day.Received order very quick and it had lots of bubble wrap. No damage whatsoever. My relatives from Ireland use to always brings a few of the very big bottles over when they visited but, now I can have HP anytime I want thru Amazon.

Being from England it was a pleasure to see this sauce for sale. I grew up with it on my chips (French fries) and tastes just as good as ever. Shipping was fast and service was good. Would recommend.
