Advanced Platinum Series P9-XML2 855w 12-band LED Grow Light + CREE 10w XM-L2 w/ DUAL VEG/FLOWER FULL SPECTRUM

This review is for the Platinum LED P9-XML2 855w light. The light arrived packaged very well and discreetly, if you are concerned with that. The light is encased in a few inches of hard foam, so it would be very difficult to break the light in transit. This was a concern of mine since this light is so expensive, but my worries were erased upon delivery. Setup is very simple, be aware the light is heavy so you may need another person to situate it in your grow area. In my opinion heavy=quality, so it's weight was welcomed. Having the 3 light switches for veg, bloom, and XML is an excellent feature. You only need one light for any type of grow operation; seedlings, veg, bloom, and the XML provides a standard color light for you to use while working in your grow area. Simply a wonderful feature to have, and again just one light does all of these things. The light itself does wonders for my plants, they responded immediately. I would recommend starting your plants at least 36" from the light, so they can adjust properly to the power of this light. After a couple days the plants are happy and ready to soak up the full force of light spectrum this light provides. The light does come with hangars, but they are not adjustable so you will need to purchase an adjustable hangar if you do not already have one.On a side note, once I switched to both veg/bloom lights(which you do in late veg and bloom stages) my power outlet had trouble handling the extra power and kept kicking the breaker. I was able to adjust as necessary and no further problems have been noted. Remember to check your grow area regularly, and do what is necessary to create the proper environment for your plants. This is very important. Speaking of electricity....my power bill was exactly the same as it is every month prior to setting up this light. This light draws minimal power, but puts out exceptional results. All around an amazing light for novice, amateur, or well seasoned growers. If you are debating whether or not to purchase this light due to it's higher cost than most LED's, I would forget about that concern. You will easily make up that cost with yield amount and quality, and electricity bill savings within your first year. I want very much to like this light, however the unit appears to be very flawed. After only a few months of use the lenses are starting to turn brown due to the UV emissions of the light. This having been said the fixture is otherwise well made and I am able to measure ~1000 umol before plants start showing stress. Plants are growing well, however the UV compatibility of the lenses will need to be addressed before I can give it a better rating.Edit: Jan, 31 2016. Email contact has been made, pictures provided.Edit Feb, 1 2016. I have been assured the issue is being resolved.Edit Feb, 10 2016. Just received news, a special order of P150's I purchased in order to compensate (overkill but needed otherwise) has shipped. No news on R/R for the lenses yet.Edit Apr, 23 2016 Problem has NOT been resolved. Fixture has been returned at near a $100 out of pocket expense and am awaiting refund.Edit May, 1 2016 Tracking: Delivered On:Tuesday, 04/19/2016 at 11:28 A.M. I did eventually return the unit only to have them "lose" the unit for months and not refund. They only way I secured a refund was to post this review to every product this guy has posted on Amazon. He negotiated; I received my refund and the negative review was confined to this product. He did say he was going to send a second unit so that I could give him a chance to redeem himself, however he did not follow through.

It's doing just as good as the 2 P600s that this replaced. I'm 3 months in use now with all 3 toggles thrown. I haven't seen the lens damage like the one review but I'm not worried. Their warranty is flawless. My only complaint is trying to hang it with provided hardware. If you have low head room you will need to get creative. Secondly I was heartbroken when I got my box with a US customs search tape covering the original packaging/shipping box. I guess mine made it to the distribution center here in California and got shipped right out after Platinum received it from thier manufacturer.I bought it directly from thier website not here at Amazon.
