Never buying a book again!
***1.5 STARS*** This book helped me justify my KU membership. I am soooo mad I paid for this. The thing is, I did everything right... I read the sample (liked it) and read the reviews (everyone else liked it). Decided it was worth my money to purchase. Big mistake! I give it one star because I actually like the writing style (meaning the actual cadence of the words on the page, not content, or lack thereof). Another half-star because the chapters I read in the sample were cute. But the lack of any kind of story and the underdeveloped characters prevent me from being able to even give this a full two stars. There is so much in this book that doesn't make sense, too much to go into. But, ironically, my biggest problem with this book is asked by the heroine herself..."'Why do you love me? I'm a college student and you're... you! You're a doctor with a trust fund and a fancy penthouse. You're cultured and associate with people who host charity events or sit on boards of companies. You have a housekeeper, Luke. I do my laundry in a coin-operated machine that I share with a hundred other students.'"YES! GREAT QUESTION, SOPHIE! I was wondering the exact same thing since you have no enduring qualities and the two of you have absolutely nothing in common. Let's see how Luke declares his love..."He tilts his head a little as he listens to me, then backs me into the brick wall of the store we're standing in front of and drops his forehead to mine and shuts me up with a kiss."WAIT, WHAT?!? No, no, no. Pleeeease answer the question, Luke. Otherwise this whole book makes no sense and I just wasted my money and time on foolishness. Luke does not answer that question then OR EVER. To be fair, it's not clear why Sophie him either.Again there is SO MUCH wrong (Sophie's random hatred for her mom, the acceptance of Luke's parents by both Luke and his sister, the cavalier handling of an almost-sex crime, the way Luke talks to Sophie, her not having any plan after college, weird subplot with an ex and "infertility", an unexplained pregnancy, etc). But those few lines literally sum up the whole book. You're welcome for the money I just saved you.

immature and just stupid. who gets an orgasm when getting examed by ...
i'm sorry, i did not get all the positive reviews on this book. i couldn't even finish it. i stopped reading by the time her hot gynocologist picked her up at the restaurant. i couldn't bond w/ the girl. she seemed, crass, immature and just stupid. who gets an orgasm when getting examed by a doctor??? i don't care how hot he is. and this is just the beginning of of one of many cringe worthy scenes. i'm all for hot sex scenes, but this did not work for me. i will not be reading anymore of this book. just did not hold my interest. all i could think was "these people are stupid".

Given all the porn, should come in a brown wrapper ..
The main characters are Sophie, a 21-YO college student moonlighting as a barista, and Luke, a 36-YO doctor who swings by each weekday for his morning java. Despite the age difference, Sophie has endless fantasies of how sex could be between them. Soon, her fantasies become reality. Sophie is still a virgin (oh, please!!!) and, upon visiting a gynecologist, she is horrified to see that Luke is the doctor. In the ecstasy and orgasm experienced during his exam, Sophie reveals she plans to have sex with her boyfriend (Mike) that weekend. Ironically, Sophie, Luke and their respective dates dine at the same restaurant that weekend and - after overhearing Mike's plans to video the sexcapade - Luke whisks Sophie from the restaurant. But, since Sophie's roommate has exclusive use of their dorm room that night, Luke takes her to his apartment. Tho initially trying to avoid an entanglement - given the age difference - Luke bends (literally) to Sophie's charms and therein lies the story as the reader is regaled (?) with page-after-page of their sexual exploits, positions and overly graphic details. And this was a New York Times best seller?! I did enjoy the book's descriptions of the Univ of Penn campus, the Rittenhouse Square setting for Luke's penthouse, and references to Philadelphia's restaurants and the suburbs. However, I don't consider myself a prude but would challenge the book's description as a "dirty, romantic comedy." A more appropriate adjective would be either "filth", "smut" or "porn". And, tho the book climbed to the NY Times best seller list, I'll pass on further entries from this author.

This is the first book by Jana Aston I have read and it won't be my last.
This is the first book by Jana Aston I have read and it won't be my last. She has a way of pulling you into the story for page 1 and you get thrown into the story.Sophie is a University student who works at a Cafe as well. For the past couple of weeks there's been a hot man coming in. He gets coffee every Tuesday morning. These are the times Sophie enjoys because she gets to lust after him. But that's all she's doing because she has a boyfriend.Luke found the cafe Sophie works at by chance. Then he found her fascinating so he kept going back every week. There's something about her that draws him in. As they spend more time together, feelings start to develop between them. But can anything come from a relationship between these 2 who are from different worlds.I loved Sophie and Luke's story. They have Chemistry between them and you can feel that when reading. There were moments were I was howling with laughter. I had to explain to my other half what was happening because he was sitting next to me when I was laughing.I thought at one point that these 2 wouldn't get their HEA. I was expecting the ending, it came as a huge shock to me.I can't wait to continue with the rest of the series!

An enjoyable read, but annoying at times
I may be a bit older than the intended demographic of this book - which would account for it annoying me somewhat. (Even on a fictional level) I would have found this story a touch more believable if Sophie had been a mature 21 year old and thereby a more understandable partner for such a successful, (financially) loaded, good-looking 35+ year old. 21 year olds can be mature and fun at the same time! Not so much Sophie.... The way she reacted at times was absolutely annoying and frustrating. Fiction! Remember this is fiction. In short the book was good and the ‘heat’ good. The book got better as it went on. Not sure this author is for a mature readers though(?), but based on the ratings and reviews there are clearly a lot of readers who do enjoy Ms Astons books.

Sophie
Fantastic characters with lots of laugh-out-loud moments.Sophie is utterly adorable, swept off her feet by the charismatic Luke. What starts out as a fling quickly develops as they both catch feelings for the other. The differences in age and status cause a few moments of discontent between Luke and Sophie especially as Luke has a longer history to deal with than Sophie.Events lead to a surprise for both Luke and Sophie that will alter the course of their lives and their relationship.I completely loved the socks within the narrative - where can I get them :)The only issue I had with Wrong was the insulting dirty talk - dirty talk I like the degrading variety not so much x

Fun, flirty read
This is my first ever Jana book & I have to say I enjoyed the giggle. It was a fun, flirty read that was easy to get lost in.I loved Sophie's humour & feisty mouth. God did she have me laughin at some of the things that were running a mile a minute through her head. As for Luke, I loved his seductive charm, dirty mouth & dominant streak. I loved how opposite these were, how wrong on so many levels their relationship seemed to be according to them, yet just how right they were where it mattered the most - love, lust & longing.Overall this was a fast paced, low angst, easy read with some sizzling smexy scenes that fit perfectly alongside some classic laugh out loud moments.
