OCN Exam Secrets Study Guide - Exam Review and OCN Practice Test for the ONCC Oncology Certified Nurse Test: [2nd Edition] (Mometrix Test Preparation)

In addition to several ONCC practice tests that I purchased, I exclusively used this study guide to prep for the OCN exam. I also did the practice tests in this book. The “rationales/answers” provided for each question were really helpful. The book mirrors the content and format of the test, and the study tips are good (answer every question even if not sure, etc). I liked the to-the-point style, but still comprehensive nature of this study guide. I passed the exam in one attempt.

After two failed attempts I purchased this book and I was able to pass the OCN. The book is great in breaking down points and also has an online portion that you can purchase and use through your computer, phone or tablet. (Coupon code in front of the book) 😊 I studied this guide for 6 weeks on and off I highly recommend using this with material from the ONCC.

I used this study guide, plus the ONS Core Curriculum book to study and passed the 1st time. I studied almost every weekend for about 9 months and in the last couple months I did a practice test (the free one you get access to when you register for the test) and example study questions that i found at various websites online for free. The ONS book had too much, this one had perhaps too little, but it was presented in a more user-friendly format. If you don't have a pretty strong, broad knowledge of all aspects of Oncology then it seems hard to pass just by studying the content presented in this one book, but it is still worthwhile, especially as a review right before the test as you can easily read the whole thing in a weekend. It does have several typos/inaccuracies, including in the test questions, but if you are able to detect them then I guess that may be a good sign that you are ready to take the test. I felt like the test questions in the sample test at the end were pretty on-par with what was on the test.

This is a great guide. It has just enough information to build your knowledge w/o overwhelming you with unnecessary information. The test questions and rationales are clearly written and informative. I used the book and the online test questions.

Lots of information pretty well organized and a great companion to the ocn core curriculum books

I just took my OCN for the first time and passed. This book is a quick summary of all things oncology. It was a great refresher and I learned things I didn’t know. I have five years experience in oncology and I did invest two months for studying. This book is an easy read and has a test at the end that is VERY similar to the actual OCN test. I read this book front to back and I’m glad I did!

I've just started studying through this book and I love the topics are straight to the point. The topics are easy to follow. I do like the sample test in the back of the book along with the rationales.
