A Rite of Passage Read Comparabe to "Catcher in the Rye" - "To Kill a Mockingbird" - "Another Roadside Attraction" and Others
The reading of "Pilgrim at Tinker Creek" should be a rite of passage for all young adults who may, as I do, read it again and again to enjoy and to fortify the soul. I am now reading it again so that I may enjoy it and discuss its facets with a high school friend to whom I recently gifted her first copy.

Amazing author.
This book reminded me of being alone in the woods, and on a creek bank as a child. My memories were filled with definition. It was such an inspiration, I absolutely loved it.

She's still got it.
A book I ordered as a result of reading "Into the Wild". I read "Holy the Firm" by Dillard because of "Into the Wild", and saw that "Pilgrim" was a Pulitzer Prize winner. I was not disappointed.

An old friend
Having grown up across the Roanoke Valley, reading and re-reading this book really is like going home for me. A comfortable friend that reminds me of the importance of paying attention to the natural world. An essential read for those who wish to know and protect the environment.

This is the stuff everyone should read.
Amazing piece of literature. One of those books you can keep on the shelf and come back to over and over. Brilliant! Annie Dillard, you're the shizz!
