ZIWI Peak Provenance Canned Wet Cat Food – All Natural, High Protein, Grain Free with Superfoods (Otago Valley, Case of 12, 6oz Cans)

It's very expensive but it makes my kitty very healthy. My kitten just turned one year old. Her coat is glossy, her eyes are brilliant and she has boundless energy. My older cat is on a crap medical diet. I gave this food to him and his lost fur grew back all shiny and he was playful again and walked without stiffness in his joints. Then, he had a urinary crystal episode and we had to put him back on the medicated diet and all the bad side effects came back. So sad. My kitty gets the mousse I make with this 2 times per day (2 cans + collagen + wheat grass powder and a little organic chicken broth for moisture blended lasts one week). This way it's more economical too. I would give her more if she wanted it. She also shares the medical food and Ziwi protects her from suffering the same side effects as my other cat. I'll keep buying.

I already feed my cat a rotation of good-quality, low carb canned cat foods, but I wanted to upgrade his nutrition by including a really premium, species-appropriate food with organs and tripe and all the other things they'd get eating whole prey in the wild. I pteviously found another brand like that, but my cat didn't like it, much to my disappointment. Then I heard about Ziwi Peak. The ingredients look amazing, exactly what I was looking for, so I took a chance and ordered a case. To my delight, my cat LOVES it! He eagerly ate the whole bowl! It IS very expensive (but worth it!), so I can't afford to feed it every day, but it's definitely going to be in the rotation two or three days a week! About the smell: to me, it smells like cooked cauliflower (there are NO veggies in it - it's just what the smell reminds me of). A strong scent, but not a BAD smell IMO.

This is a high quality cat food designed to meet a cat’s nutritional needs and my cats love to eat it. The silkiness and overall health of their coats have improved since they’ve been eating this food. It is expensive but worth the price if it fits in one’s budget. We’ve tried several of the Ziwi flavors and this one is a favorite of my kitties.

According to Ziwipets, this item among some others in this line have been discontinued. Too bad, my Abyssinian cat loves this food and it appears to be very healthy. The customer service rep said that there may be some new items coming out.

I just want to be clear: Ziwi Peak is the BEST brand of wet cat food out there, so they get 5 stars! I LOVE Ziwi Peak! My cats love it and are obviously healthier on it!***BUT this supplier gets 1 star, because they sent me damaged food. I’ve been using Ziwi Peak for awhile, and it’s been absolutely amazing AND my cats go nuts for it!BUT this made my cats sick!! :( :(I noticed that it looked slightly different when I opened it, but I’m very experienced in animal nutrition and know some variation is normal. Sadly, this wasn’t normal. :(Both of my cats immediately had extreme and extremely stinky diarrhea that got all over them! It’s been absolutely disgusting and awful for them, too, of course! :(I even took my cat into the vet, and they’re not sick… it’s the food. I’m so mad!!I tried it a few times, because I thought it could have been a coincidence, but as I said, even my vet said it must be the food because they aren’t sick. :(They’ve been off the food, and after having to pay money for supplements to calm their guts, they’re slowly doing better.You all owe me money in vet bills and supplements.Also, besides making my cats sick, I couldn’t believe that when I tried to return these almost immediately, this seller refused my return although I said it was damaged food!!!So all I can conclude is that this seller doesn’t care about cats or people. Very very shady and very very sad. :(Thank you for the major extra stress that none of us needed.

Best (healthiest) feeds found to date (going on label contents listed, & how our cat goes NUTS over the Hauraki Plains version. He’s not terribly picky, but, has a bit of an adjustment to change feeds…except for this! When he really likes something, he REALLY does!Hate to even think what might happen if we couldn’t get more of this…have yet to find the like of this, in the US.Which brings me to the drawbacks:1: it comes from half a world away…bad for environment.2: love the bigger cans with less metal to recycle, & the bigger ones cost less…BUT…if you fail to get at least two days’ meals for one cat from each larger can, you spend LOT$ more than using the more costly smaller cans.My DH, to our cats delight, will feed him a whole large can over a single day… Really must ration that out with some of the dried chips of it, so kitty gets both dried & wet during each of 2 days per can.At the rate DH feeds, Our cat’s diet is starting to look, proportionally, more costly than ours!But it sure got his full attention! >¥<

I think the ingredients in this food are fantastic and it’s a good quality food however I also I really wish my cat liked this. I also wish I had a chance to just buy a can or two before I purchase an entire case and waste of my money. I can’t seem to find a pet store that carries this brand of pet food. Anyway I adopted my cat from a kill shelter two days before her euthanasia date. She had hotspots and I figured out that she has an allergy to chicken. This flavor does not contain chicken so I thought it would be perfect as I am trying to switch her to a more healthy diet suspecting that she was on crappy Purina or Meow mix or something. She wouldn’t even lick it. Three stars isn’t due to any type of lack of quality, it’s just my frustration on my cats addiction to Poor quality Food in the wad of money I lost in attempting to steer her towards a healthier diet
