This stuff is addictive!
I don’t have anything to compare this to as it was my first time (knowingly) having gochujang. However, the flavor is really delicious and there’s a good amount of heat to it. Before cooking with it I wanted to know what I was getting myself into so tried a little on it’s own. The first note that hit me was the saltiness, then the sweetness and smokiness came through. Finally was the spice. The umami is perfect. I used it in a kimchi udon stir fry and even though I was sweating bullets I couldn’t get enough. I’m really happy I bought this, and will purchase again in the future.

Spicy
Love this Paste perfect for spicy soups. Just add to your liking with chicken broth or veggie broth or beef and it'll be so good it's very hot a little goes a long way.

Perfect For So Many Dishes
Great product. For me, I don't like things too hot any more so I make certain I use a small amount, but I like that because it means if I want an extra kick I just up the amount a bit. I have mixed it into various sauces and dishes and am not disappointed at all. Container reseals easily and it's staying fresh in the refrigerator. I think I saw a couple of germs crawling away with tears in their eyes, looking for water.

Spicy!
I love the flavor but its too spicy for some people. Spicier than what you usually get in a Korean restaurant. I won't rate it down because its so delicious, but you might find the spiciness takes away from the flavor. Also, I like that the packaging allows it to retain freshness for a long time in the fridge after opening.

Rage Inducing Disappointment
Product came today in the mail. Was not saran wrapped or properly packaged during shipping, which led to the mess inside and outside. The container itself was open and had spilled everywhere. As the great "TheReportofTheWeek" once said, "My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined". Checked to see if item could be returned...nope.Also, the actual ingredient list is "Red Pepper Seasoning, Pepper Power, Water, Salt, Garlic, Onion, Corn Syrup, Water, Wheat Flour, Wheat Rice, Salt, Grain Alcohol, Rice Powder, Soybean Powder, MSG, Seed Malt." Contains Soybeans and Wheat. If you're wondering if this is halal? I'm gonna say it's not, and please don't try to split hairs about fermentation during processing.

Delicious but a bit pricey compared to stores
This stuff is delicious and definitely recommend if you don’t have easy access to an international market - otherwise you can buy it there quite a bit cheaper, and trust me, you’ll be buying more!

Great Not-too-sweet Gochujang
I've tried a few different kinds of Gochujang, this is by far my favorite. I don't think it's traditional due to the lack of sweetness, but I like it much more than others. Not that there is no sweetness, it's just more subdued.

Versatile and delicious!
Delicious! I use this for making kimchi and also for sweet and crunchy tofu. You could easily use the sweet and crunchy tofu sauce for wings, pork chops, my husband said he would eat it on flip flops it's so good! I haven't tried it, but this would make a killer marinade for grilling if you thinned it with some rice vinegar. Happy cooking!
