Fail
I got 91% through this book and had to put it down. There are just too many "Yeah Right" moments where Kiritio finds just the item he needs right when he needs it or he does some really amazing thing that is near impossible to do. Honestly it feels like the author has no direction, like he is just sitting down and free writing. After reading as much of this as I did I think its time for me to switch genre. There is a point in this book where Kirito is laying on his bed starring at the roof and thinking about all of the floors that lay ahead of him and how long that it is going to take them to clear the game at their current pace. Well... I did the same thing only I was thinking if one of these books come out a year and each book has one floor and there are... 100 floors, then it will take..................... 94 years to finish the series (unless he does go by the predetermined events of the anime). I hope he has an understudy.

Fast shipping but water damaged book
Came quicker than stated but has water damage on the last 3rd of the book and had a security sticker stuck to a page inside. Still readable but i would be disappointed if i was looking for a nice condition for my bookshelf

Coming into its own
An improvement over the previous installment, this builds on the changes to the original story from the previous novel, creating a much richer story that blends back in the character conflicts of the original, with the seeds of how the story will progress towards the next and future intersections with the original. There is only one stark difference from the original story, and ultimately I don't think it's going to be too important of a departure for canon purists, but it makes a hugely positive difference for the storytelling aspect.

A slower pace than the last few books, but still a good read.
In this one, the author spends more time on the scenery, the details. It's great for those digging in for details. Because of this, though, the pacing of the book is a bit slower. There's still an epic battle (on water, nonetheless!) and a continuation of the elven storyline from the previous book.

Puts the original series to shame
Once again, Kawahara far surpasses his original series (like that was hard to do). In general, Kirito is much more likable and believable in this series, since he's not nearly as overpowered as he is in the original. Also, I enjoy reading about the new characters in the DKB and ALS. There wasn't much strife between the two guilds in this book - that was focused on in book two - but even without that conflict, Kirito and Asuna's journey is a very compelling read.Additionally, the NPC characters are very convincing, making me end up caring about a game-generated storyline. Making Kizmel a strong AI was a smart move on Kawahara's part. My only complaint about this book is that the boss fight was highly shortened, like it was in the second book. However, this is ultimately a small nitpick. Fans of the Progressive series will love this, and so will newcomers.

Better than the anime.
My kid, who is the one who read these and who watched the show, says these are better than the show.

Best SAO material out there
I loved the anime, and will consider the upcoming hollow realization game for ps4. In many ways, I think that progressive is much more fun and interesting than the main storyline though. It fleshes out a lot more of, and in many cases rewrites, what I consider to be the best part of SAO, the first arc. I am eagerly awaiting the 4th book.

This book is great for starters it showed up on time in perfect condition. Second the book its self is a really good read since it hits on things the show doesn't but at the same time is a bit more descriptive than the manga. SAO has and will always be one of my favorite anime, if you play any of the PS4 games of SAO the books help introduce some of the characters never mentioned in the show so that is a plus.

Really nice volume and funny 4th floor
This volume was really interesting as it was all based on the water, and I think Reki did a good job of showing how Kirito and Asuna got around the place, in their inflation able fruit. That's right fruit. And then it was the gondolas which they named Tilnel. Then getting to the Yoveil castle on it where they met up again with Kizmel!I also thought that the ending was really good which I am not going to spoil if you want to know it go and buy it from a good book store and help Reki, as it's well worth the read. But over all the boss battle could of done with a few more pages!Good book for all SAO fans and worth your money ! Go out and buy it!
