The scanner is responsive to the software app I selected for my iPhone: "CAR SCANNER ELM OBD2"Note: the software that was suggested for my iPhone 7 and 10 did not support the scanner as it could not connect. I took another reviewer's suggestion and looked for another OBD2 scanner from my app store and selected a popular and free one that also got good reviews. After installed, it recognized this FYSMY OBD2 Scanner & WiFi Car Code Reader via my Bluetooth. Thereafter, it worked like a charm. I keep it plugged in to calculate fuel consumption and keep an active diagnostic reading on my daughter's Jeep.With that, I mainly got this because my daughter is leaving out of state for college in 2 months and I wanted her to have this to read her own check engine light codes if the need arises. I taught her how to scan the engine for codes and told her that information acquired from this tool is the best defense against possible unethical car shop owners/mechanics. It is a little diagnostic mechanic that can help me somewhat with her being so far away from Daddy the Car Shade Mechanic. Sigh...

This thing is awesome for the money. I've been using it for the code erase. I have a p0456 which isn't a huge deal, I do need to get it fixed but it messes with my remote start. So I wipe it and it goes away for a week or two. The only thing I have an issue with is, when I have the vehicle in the run position, the device says it can't wipe unless it's in the run position. I have tried it in all the vehicles positions and it still says it but it does still wipe the code so it's not a huge deal.

This is honestly a great tool for a great price. I personally think everyone should have on (but make sure it will work properly with you vehicle). A tool like this can help you do things yourself and protect you from a shop trying to jack up your wallet. This device can easily save you the money you spent on it in the long run just by giving you the knowledge you need in a few, simple seconds. Unfortunately for me, the issue is a serious one. But that won't always be the case for everyone. Be smart. Knowledge is power. Protect your investment and protect your dignity. Buy this tool and keep it in your trunk, glove box, center console or anywhere else in your car. Very handy and almost idiot-proof to use. Also gives basic live data. Works in seconds.

Great OBD scanner, Do not let the low price scare you! Item received the next day after ordering with Prime. Professionally packaged and easy to use right out of the box with simple instructions, Identified check engine light code in less than 10 minutes. Paid for itself in one use. Error code identified was mass air flow sensor. I removed the sensor cleaned it with Mass airflow spray (only use this not WD-40 or any other cleaner), then let it dry for about 1 hour. Reinstalled the sensor (one clip on wire harness and two screws ( easy fix) then deleted the error code. I re scanned the 2016 Nissan Altima and check engine light was gone. Looks like it was just dirty. there are many easy how to videos on u tube showing exactly how to do this. Great product, reasonably priced and really worked for me. I am not a mechanic and have never used an OBD reder before, Good item to have. Thank you to a great seller and product.

I got the engine check light on my Toyota Camry 2010 thus I got this code reader to see what's the problem before going to a mechanic. The OBDII scanner itself is quite light and I just had to plug in and read. I was able to get the code right away saying my Cylinder 1 misfired - and it seems that this fix might be possible for me to do DIY. Overall, I'm impressed with this OBDII code reader and you definitely don't need to spend more on the fancier version at all.

I bought this one to get the error code that's giving my vehicle, excellent I was able to get it out in a couple of seconds.Has good functions, basically what you need without having to go to the mechanic.Definitely recommended

As a female you never want someone to try and “fool” you into thinking that something serious is wrong with your vehicle when the issue isn’t that serious. Love how this clears the light and gives you a description of the code. It’s a must buy!

Sensor did not work with the recommended apps. I was not able to sync with my phone. Also beware of the app you use to sync, most of the ones recommended don’t seem to be trustworthy to keep your data safe, in my humble opinion.
