PreparaEvak Compact Glass Food Storage, 75 Ounce, Black

This stores my ground coffee in airtight freshness. The coffee never gets bitter. Easy to use and clean.

So far my experience has been positive for keeping the coffee beans fresh. I'll know more as I compare last beans stored to fresh from store in flavor.

I thought people were being careless or dumb when they said this broke on them. The glass container is relatively thick and feels very sturdy. Today I tried to add more beans to my container by pulling up on the lid--it was maybe 5" down from the top. If you aren't careful and the lid turns sideways (maybe a half inch out of level), the metal bottom part of the lid will catch on the glass and cause the container to shatter. I'm glad I didn't have any coffee beans in the container at the time because they would have gone everywhere with the tiny shards of glass. I knew I should have gone with a metal container.

It's a really nice airtight storage device. I wish they would make one 2 or 3 time this size.

Easy to use and attractive. Produces an air tight seal.

This product shattered in my hands. I'm lucky it didn't hurt me. Only used for about 2 months. And not even daily. It's used to store coffee pods.

Broke after 2 months of use - no damage or drops. Pulled the lid out and the side shattered.

Used container one time and hit the jar on the bottom with my hand (not very hard at all) and it broke the first time. Very disappointed.

Compared to the other versions of this Prepara Evak jar, (the ones which come with the high thicker arch handles) this jar feel cheaply made. Be careful when pressing down on the lid as the glass is much more thinner, it feels fragile and feels it will crack if you do not push straight down. The shorter lid handle is hard to press down because if you have large hands, it feels restrictive as your hand has to go right inside the glass jar compared to the high arched version. The handle is also much thinner and feels cheap in feel, the "Evak" logo is just a sticker stuck compared to the other models which has them printed on the glass. The silicone seals looks cheap. In general i feel this is a cost cutting product. Thicker glass, a higher arch handle and a better silicone seal would have made this product outstanding.------------UPDATED on 25th August.My second XL Prepara Evak jar just arrived as i had ordered two at the start. Same cheaply made quality as the first one. One thing to note before you use this is to remove/unlock/twist the "stainless steel" locking cover under the push handle and wash it thoroughly as mine had grease marks on the inside probably, come from the mould it was made in. In the picture above you can clearly see after i washed it the indents and scuff marks on how cheap the quality of the stainless steel is. I hope Prepara will rectify these issues. Never had these issues with the high arch handle Prepara jars as they are excellent quality jars with a super finish.

Exactly what I need and no issues after few months of usage.

Better off just leaving your coffee in its original bag, or putting it into the freezer. Even when kept out of the sun this product just doesn’t seal freshness.
