GMGenuine Parts 98094201 Drive Belt Tensioner

A special order at local automotive stores this genuine GM product was arrived in a manufacturer GM box. It is made by Gates which I hear GM has been using to make quality products for them. I received this item a little late but never the less the part number was correct and fit perfectly on my 2003 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 6.6L DURAMAX DIESEL 4X4. On a separate order from Amazon I received the serpentine belt also a genuine GM product-that added reassurance because the back of the toothed belt is not smooth but has more grip as needed to turn other pulleys as designed. Other aftermarket belts will do the job but have a smooth backside you could tell wasn't made with the pulley configuration in mind. OEM products make a difference even if slightly.

I ordered this part because it said oem. It was actually a gates product. I ordered it while still building my truck. By the time i got the duramax engine built and put this on it went out within a week. Making horrible noises. Well, because my truck wasn't done i was out of the return date, BUT it was still under warranty. Well I've not heard anything back from the company and had to purchase another from the local parts store. I am EO OVER Amazon, it's always a mission to return stuff and they dont have any way to contact the sellers other than thru stupid automated services. From now on I'll stick with local or eBay.

Part came in an ACDelco box but branding on the part was Gates. Gates makes quality parts and is often the OE part manufacturer for a lot of this stuff, so I’m not too upset. I just wish I would have avoided the “rebranding tax” and it not be marketed as the OE part.

was an exact match for 2011 duramax..it actually looked exactly like the OEM i took off.. very easy to change.. one 15mm bold and done

Replaced pulleys and tensioner, everything fit perfectly.

The original belt, tensioner, and idlers on my LML has over 170,000mi on them. Figured it was time to change them instead of waiter for one of them to break. The tensioner I received was a Gates brand sold by AC Delco, no issue, Gates is a great brand! Fitment was great and no squeals or squeaks.

Title says it. Didn't read the reviews before to check if it was Gates or not. 2010 duramax install went pretty well. Changed out this and the idler pulleys in a hour. Loosing the fan shroud at the top and you're good to go.
