Are additional batteries available for purchase?

I don't know, I retured 2 saws due to the chain brake was stuck and I couldn't start the saw, it has been 2 months and I have not received a refund

why does new saw fully charged stop while cutting log?

batteries overheating or chain getting bound. another solution it purchase the 5.0amp battery (rather than the 2.5amp battery that comes with it) doing this cleared up alot of cases of the chain stopping

Why is battery life so short-8 months old

The 2.5Ah battery that comes with this skil model is shortened in charge after a few months of use. I had to upgrade to the 5.0 battery in order to get 45 min of use with this saw! Cost me $180.00 extra
