Doesn't handle humidity so well
I've had this a few months now and it's working perfectly. I have it hung on the underside of my porch roof so it's not directly exposed to the weather and I honestly don't think I would recommend it for places where it will get rained / snowed on. I'm sure it will be able to handle the ambient moisture / cold / heat from being outside but I don't think it would last long if you plan on mounting it directly in the elements - at least not unless you do some slight modifications to it like using caulk or silicone over the seams. The motion sensor function works great - it only comes on when it's dark and the sensitivity is perfect. Once it detects no motion for approx 10 to 15 seconds it goes right back out again. The light is very adequate for shining on a door so you can see the keyhole or find your way in a dark area.UPDATE 9/17/2010: I wanted to add a couple of notes now that I have been using this light for six months. I had initially given this 5 stars but had to knock off a couple of stars due to some serious issues with the light. The light began staying on all night long when there was no motion - occasionally going off for a second and then coming back on again. Since it had been six months since I installed the light and the light was getting a bit dim I assumed that maybe it was because the batteries were dying. When I opened the door to replace the batteries white water poured out - the water was white due to the moisture inside the light corroding the batteries and they were leaking a lot of acid. It actually burned a little and the batteries were in such bad shape I'm surprised they were even able to turn the light on. As I mentioned above, my light is not exposed to any direct moisture at all - it's hung on my porch roof which has an eave that extends down one foot from the roof line and the light is mounted in the corner. No matter how hard it rains the light would never be able to get hit by water so apparently the ambient humidity is getting into the light and condensing inside. I was able to get the light working again by leaving the battery door off and letting the insides dry (inside the house) for a week - I think the water was causing the circuit board inside to short out. Before I put the batteries back in I sealed all around the lens and all the seams with silicone sealant. After I put the batteries in I sealed the battery door shut with Dap 18324 Seal 'N Peel Removable Caulk, 10.1-Ounce so hopefully that will keep moisture from entering. It really is a nice light and it's a shame the manufacturer didn't put a little more effort into making this more weather resistant. If you plan on using this outside at all I would recommend that you seal it up good first unless you live in a desert. As I mentioned the battery life is roughly six months, which is decent, but I think I expected more since it runs on 4 C cell batteries. Then again, maybe they would have lasted longer if they weren't soaked in water.UPDATE 9/15/2012: I haven't had any further issues with the light since sealing all the seams with silicone sealant and "Seal N' Peel" (so I can get the battery door off in the future without too much of a fight). I haven't had to replace the batteries since sealing it in 9/2010 so the batteries will last a very long time as long as moisture doesn't find its way inside. Hopefully on future revisions the manufacturer will make the few small adjustments needed to make the light moisture proof.

Arrived without hardware but still excellent product!
Bought this mainly for the ease in installation: everything supposedly included. Got the light, have batteries on hand, but no mounting screws in the box as they are suppose to be. I'm a single woman currently housebound due to cancer treatments and no immune system so I'm not able to run out to the local hardware store and get screws to install this otherwise I would have already done so. I wanted it for one particularly dark corner in the fenced yard for when I have to take my geriatric dogs out after dark. I also can't return it because I don't have a printer so I can't print out the return label from Amazon. It might be a good product but until I can install it I won't know.I did install that batts and I set this out on the a/c compressor in the corner of the yard. It was very windy last night and I wanted to determine if a strong wind (winter snow storm) would trigger it to go 'on' and maybe stay 'on' for long periods of time but the wind last night didn't trigger it. The dogs, however, did from pretty far away. Some of the dogs triggered it and when it came on, they weren't even in the light. That is how responsive it is: they were just outside the illuminated area which, I will admit, was rather impressive. It isn't a bright white light but more bluish as a previous reviewer stated but that does not hinder its ability to light the way. I'll be buying a few more for myself for the yard and placement near the circuit breaker box in the cellar. I have flashlights in every room but once the power goes out (and it goes out a lot here) I can't find the flashlights without bumping into furniture or tripping over the dogs lying around the house on the floor. This would be great in a closet, attic or even a baby's room vs a nightlight: placed on the floor or even under the crib, I think this would illuminate a nursery enough to change a diaper and check on a sleeping child without making the room as bright as turning on a small bureau lamp.12-1-10 CS has already shipped a replacement unit as well as a return shipping label for the unit that doesn't have the hardware included. Can't wait. Now that I've seen it in action, I know exactly where I'm going to install in on the back fence. Two small starter holes with my trusty Dremel and in 2-3 minutes, this 'chore' will be done. Now I'm off to place my order for a few more.12-2-10 ironically, in yesterday's mail I got 24 catalogues...24! I dont read them page to page but I do flip the pages and if something catches my eye, then I'll look further. Strangely enough, I saw this same product, exactly, in 2 of those catalogues. One was $39.99 and the other was $59.99. If you're liking this product, I would think Amazon is the place to buy at such a great price. Just sayin'.November 2011 edit. My first light is still going strong. I have not had to replace the batteries at all since I first installed the fixture on the stockade fence in the back yard. With 6 dogs who go out at all different times, this light gets a workout for certain. I bought a second fixture for further down the side of the house in the same yard because this first one will turn itself off before the dog(s) decide they've found the right 'spot' for what they want/need to do out there in the dark. That was in June/July 2011. And just this week I purchased a 3rd. I installed it approximately 15' from the first one on the back fence because now that is gets dark early, I noticed when my neighbor turns his back steps light on for his dog, it shines right against my back fence and my first-installed light thinks it is daylight and turns itself off, leaving my dogs behind the stockade fence in the dark once again. With the 3 light fixtures now in place, the dogs can see where they are going and I can see the dogs. Couldn't be more perfect. I love these lights.

Un poco mas grande de lo esperado
Funcional y practica. Apenas la instale hace un par de dias pero ha trabajado excelente. El unico detalle por lo que no le doy el 5 es que pense que era mas pequeña, no es tan pequeña como pense, usa 4 pilas "C".

2nd times a charm
purchased for my daughters closet.1st unit came on without motion randomly. Amazon customer service sent me a 2nd one out and had me return the original. 2nd one worked flawlessly. Just enough light to pick out clothes in the morning.
