what batteries does it require and how many, I want to purchase for a gift and have it ready to go from the day it is recieved?

I do not believe mine have batteries.... They just run until they're not nice and shiny any longer. I ran mine at least 10 hours every night, 7 days/week and then tossed in out. To my mind, NOTHING will ever replace the Grecian Gardens Envirascape. The color reflected on the ceiling and was beautiful to hear and see.

On the page here in the description and below that in the product details, it says that the dimensions are 8'x7.5'x8.25

Do you think that this fountain would be a good idea in an eleven year old girl's bedroom?

Yeah, I think that an 11 year old would love it. I would just make sure that the fountain doesn't stay too close to an electrical outlet, in case she knocks it over. The power cord is pretty long and easily could sit on a desk or a bed table far enough away from an outlet.

How many lights are there?Can they be replaced when burn out or do you trash the fountain?The lighting is half of the reason for the fountain, I think

There are 2 little LED lights, one each under the top tiers. I don't see any way to replace them. I've used mine quite a bit since I bought it a few months ago, and the lights still work fine. I bought primarily it for the soothing sound of the fountain and because I like the look of it, so for me even if the lights burn out, I'd like it. Not as much as with functioning lights, but I'd still keep it.
