Adjustable and responsive
I bought the 10 inch mesh head snare. It does not have a sensitivty knob. ( I think this was an old feature that has now been eliminated.) You can however adjust the mesh head by tightening or untightening the six screws along the rim. This is much like tuning a regular drum head - it allows you to put more or less tension on the mesh head to fit your own particular playing style.I am very pleased with this product. The responsiveness of the Alesis mesh head is amazing. You might even want to purchase the 10 inch to replace the customary 8 inch Alesis floor tom pad that comes with many of their kits.And if your Alesis kit does not have a 'stand alone' snare stand, I highly recommend adding one to your kit. It makes a definite difference in how the snare feels.

Great replacement heads for the nitro mesh kit.
Added this to the nitro mesh kit (replaced two of the 8 inch heads with two 10 inch). So far no issues and great playability. The larger head makes playing a lot easier and the replacements are dual zone - I have one rim set as a cow bell and the other as a tambourine for now.
