100 Paper Dragons to Fold and Fly by Sam Baer (2015-09-01)

I bought this for 2 little boys aged 2 and 5 and they both enjoyed getting me to fold them numerous dragon planes. There are only 5 different designs, which was a bit of a let down with 100 possible planes to make. Though this isn't a deal breaker. And 2 to 3 of them are simply not very good fliers. They are quick, easy and simple to make, with very clear instructions and folding lines to follow, whic was very helpful (the only unclear bit is what side up to fold them to get the best dragon pic across the wings, so that I had to start again, unfolding and refolding the other way round a few times.) The boys liked the 'pointy nose' plane best but didn't like the more unconventionally shaped ones so much. Some just didn't fly all that well, and others looked weird, with the nose folded over and over so many times that it had no aerodynamics. They are also quite small (the paper is only A5, not A4 as you'd expect, but this isn't a deal breaker either. The dragon designs are fun and very colourful with lots of different ones, with 2 or 3 of each design, which the boys liked as they could make repeats of their favourite ones.

Book has clear instructions, pages are easy to remove and the fold lines are clear to see. The end result is colourful and easy enough to make so that the younger children don't feel overwhelmed, while not being so simple it's boring. Gives the opportunity to have some gentle interaction with the kids, well worth buying.

Great book with loads of cool dragons to make in with five cool designs. Easy to follow instructions and they fly great. My two boys love them and great family racing.

Purchased as an end of year present. Looks like they will have plenty to make up. A good quality book.
