Very much a 60s stoner album.
While this came out in 1971 it has the 60s stoner vibe about it; something to be experienced late at night when the listener is in an enhanced mellow mood.Showing the eclectic mix that this record is for example, T7 has great guitar playing on it and is quite a standout track, with A.B. sounding almost like ‘Tom Jones’ in a ‘Deep Purple’ power delivery; followed by something that could have come off a ‘Jethro Tull’ album, then a short piece of ‘plain song’. These are then followed by tracks that include talking and disjointed musical arrangements in a manner that recalls ‘Stockhausen’. Then there is more ‘normal’ instrument playing as part of T13, and good it is too. The final track on the original album is organ based with Arthur almost going into ‘Fire’ mode, as he had done on T1.Could have done with more tracks like T7 & T13 and less of the other more ‘experimental’ music. The bonus tracks are alternate versions of what has gone before.Could be described as a psychedelic rock opera.Only really for lovers of 60s ‘underground’ music, as this is beyond prog rock! Track time nearly 63 mins.

A Gem
I m not to familiar with all of Arthur Browns work. However after seeing him Live this year I was interested in some of the other work he'd done. This album is very prog rock. Some very clever recording and production work. I much prefer this to say, the likes of Yes or suchlike because the whole thing is like a performance. The percussion is first rate. Arthur's delivery is marvelous, the guitar riffs and bass are deep and heavy.Really enjoyed.

Better than ever
I used to borrow this LP from my mate regularly and loved it then. Now having got this cd almost 50 years later it sounds even better. I don't normally like to play music over again but this is an exception. An absolute classic and very underrated album

Bad editing
I owned the original of this album which I bought a few years after release in 1971 and recently sold my vinyl collection. I decided to replace a few of my classic albums including this one. However was very surprised to find a couple of minutes of a track on side one were edited out completely! This made me wonder if the transfer to CD was from the vinyl or the original tapes. Very disappointing.

Classic Album
A classic album that I have on vinyl but getting a bit tired now, therefore the need to get the CD. You either love or hate Arthur and his work and I love it.
