Outstanding
Fantastic weighty quality speakers with superior sound quality. Also included in tbe box was speaker base foot mounts, what wasn't in it was any speaker wire. Bought the copper wire off here, we'll worth the cost.

Super atmos speakers
Great price atmos speakers from Wharfedale. You have the option of placing on top of existing front speakers or wall mounted up high above the front speakers. Keyhole mount & screws are supplied.

Atmostastic !!!
These speakers are fantastic. They really enhance the atmos experience. When I first set up my home theatre in December 2020, I used cheap Adastra BC5 speakers for the height speakers. They were nice for a budget first-time set up. When I was looking to upgrade my system in Feb 2023, I bought these Wharfedales to timbre match my existing Wharfedale bed-layer speakers. Coupled with the auro 3d upmixer on my Denon X4500h, even tv sounds amazing with these atmos speakers, never mind enhancing my Bluray and 4k watching experience. Absolute bargain !!!! PS, in Feb 2024, I started experimenting with the DTS Neural X upmixer on my Denon X4500h amp. Testing blurays like Band of Brothers and the 4k version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I discovered that in combination with the Wharfedale d300 3d atmos speakers, the soundstage really opened up to create a more enriching listening and viewing experience.

Great Speakers
Really happy with these speakers that I am using as rear surround speakers for my 5.1 surround system. The only downside is there were no wall mounting brackets in the box so now I have to buy them separately.

Decent if uninspired set of upfiring speakers
I recently upgraded my home theatre setup from a mismatched mess to a more unified array. This involved a new Denon 7.2 receiver and a matched set of Q-Audio 5.1 speakers allowing the new Amp to process 'Atmos' content. Sounded great but after a bit more research I realised the 'Atmos' was achieved by employing a virtualiser to convert the 7.2 signal to 5.1 so not genuine at all, just more advanced Pro Logic.Fixing this required some height speakers so I investigated further. I looked at fitting some in my ceiling but the work involved was prohibitive once cabling was taken into account. I looked at simply fitting some high surround speakers but this was also far from ideal. Despite a natural cynicism about upfiring speakers it was becoming clear they would likely be the best option, helped by the fact the TV room has a ceiling perfect for them. Q don't do a matching set to my main speakers so it was necessary to find something complimentary.I kept coming back to these Wharfedales as there's really not much choice at the reasonable end of the market. They are not listed as Atmos speakers but looking at the specifications on paper it appeared they might do the job so I took a punt on them and I'm glad I did.I fitted them as upfiring, front height speakers and used Audyssey MultEQ XT to set everything up, my ceiling height was perfect. Once all the calibrations were completed I put Avengers Endgame on as the Atmos track makes heavy use of the overhead channels. It was a revelation. The addition of the two extra channels transforms the audiovisual experience and removes the inherent problem in limited spaces where the rear surrounds are too noticeable taking you out of the moment. It's just far better balanced. The '2' in 5.1.2 matters. In terms of downsides there's no way around it, they are boring and ugly black boxes which only look worse if you dare remove the (individual) covers. If the grilles are removed the speakers will just fill up with dust anyway. Placed alongside the beautifully designed Q-Acoustics speakers the difference is clear but it is what it is. They lend themselves to placement on top of the main L/R speakers but in my case this looked so awful I put them on stands alongside which works well in my case. The construction quality is okay but the individual drivers look cheap and feel plasticky. The enclosures are bigger than they look with footprints equal to my 3020i main channels. There are proper terminal posts which is always nice. They don't come with feet installed, these need to be stuck on manually but this does give more flexibility - I've fitted mine in a way that keeps them secure on the stands. There are also two screw-in wall mount brackets but they look like an afterthought, I'd never hang a speaker of this quality and weight on a single screw. They do a job, and do it competently. If you need height channels on a budget I highly recommend them despite their shortcomings.

Impressive sound at good price
I'm very impressed with the speakers considering the same sort of down firing height speaker from say srs was looking like 400 for a set (shocking prices). These have better sound quality than my onkyo centre speaker provided with my original sound system. I may upgrade to a wharfedale centre speaker at some point.
