Product Description Emperor Trajan plans to have a monument built for eternity: the Forum Trajanum. It is supposed to become the biggest and most glorious Emperor's forum that the Roman world has ever seen — not only in order to demonstrate his success as Princeps Optimus in an imposing manner, but also to foster the well-being and the fame of the honorable citizens of Rome. In Forum Trajanum, each player governs a Colonia, founded by Trajan himself, and thus is the head of one of the highest-ranking cities in the entire Roman Empire. While the players try to optimally develop their own Colonia, they should not fail in supporting the Emperor's building project to the best of their abilities at the same time. The player who is most successful in doing so will — after expiry of their term of office — be admitted to the small circle of illustrious and mighty personalities surrounding the Emperor. Safety Warning Not suitable for children under 36 months

A Stephan Feld legend
Not to be confused with another Feld classic 'Trajan' (BGG 7.6 score), this is a rather abstract Roman themed euro that reminds me of Merv more than anything else. How to Play:1. Setup and populate the central and player game boards (NB It's a long set up)2. 2 street cards are flipped to dictate which 1-2 streets that you can take tiles from your board.3. Keep one and pass the other to your left hand neighbor4. Decide which one you will use (in some cases both)5. Collect supplies and perform one build action6. Place an envoy in the forum, if you have one (receive rewards for completing an area)7. Perform scoring after 8 street cards have been played8. Repeat 3 times, highest score winsIt is easy to teach (though there's quite a lot to it - but I'd say this is true for 11+), pretty, fun, decision rich and fast playing. Scoring means no one knows who's winning and there's no conflict with other players. You will be able to optimise lots of little things in whatever you chose to focus on.Other Feld games:2005 Roma2006 Rum & Pirates2007 In the Year of the Dragon2007 Notre Dame*2008 The Name of the Rose2009 Arena: Roma II2009 The Pillars of the Earth: Builders Duel2009 Macao**2010 Luna2010 It Happens..2011 The Castles of Burgundy**2011 Strasbourg2011 Trajan*2013 Bora Bora*2013 Rialto*2013 Bruges**2013 Amerigo*2014 La Isla2014 AquaSphere2016 The Castles of Burgundy: The Card Game2016 Jórvík (aka Speicherstadt)2016 The Oracle of Delphi2017 The Castles of Burgundy: The Dice Game2017 Merlin2018 Forum Trajanum*2018 Carpe Diem*2019 Revolution of 18282020 Bonfire*2020 The Castles of Tuscany*2021 Hamburg (Bruges remastered)**2021 Amsterdam (Macao remastered)*** Highly recommended or prizewinning top classic greats (** Double Great)RECOMMENDEDBGG score 7.3/102-4 players (best at 3)Complexity 3.4/5 (still I'd say quite quick to learn)60-120 minutes
