All natural Kitty Catnip is gown in the rich, fertile, volcanic soils of the Cascade Mountains in the Kittitas Valley of Central Washington State (pronounced Kitty-Tas). The catnip thrives and grows quickly in the long dry days of summer. At about mid-summer when the flowers, buds and some seeds are at their maximum, we begin to harvest. The harvested catnip is then covered, stored and slowly dried in a warm shaded enclosure to maintain its vivid green color and fresh minty flavor. After the drying process is complete, we mechanically separate the stems and seeds leaving only the flowers, buds (with some leaves and the occasional stems and seeds) which are then vacuum packed to seal in the fresh summer flavor. During processing the pervasively fresh, minty aroma is an irresistible lure to our two kitties "Brown" and "Momma Cat". Our vacuum packaging helps retain that fresh summer flavor for your cats too. We believe that Kitty Catnip is the most flavorful catnip around.
